Job Summary:  The procurement department supports the various functions to procure and manage supplies and ensures procurement processes are managed in a diligent manner. The function also supports donor funded projects being implemented by Deloitte.

 

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to join our Internal Client Services Department – Finance as a Procurement Associate. This position will be based in our Kampala office in Uganda.

 

The successful candidate will support the Firm’s procurement management process in Uganda including monitoring budgets and implementation of procurement plans. He/she will provide guidance in execution of specific tasks related to procurement management in the Firm in order to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Support in the implementation of the Deloitte procurement policy, procedures, and donor requirements;
  • Conduct the day-to-day procurement sourcing processes including Request for quote (RFQ), Request for proposal (RFP) to effectively meet user requirements and ensure value for money;
  • Continuously manage supplier contracts in an efficient manner for performance reviews, renewals, or terminations;
  • Implement vendor compliance in line with Deloitte’s Risk, Independence and Legal requirements;
  • Maintain professional supplier relationships and collect data to monitor supplier performance;
  • Prepare and submit monthly procurement reports;
  • Collect, update, and ensure safe custody of all procurement records; and
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

  • Client Impact (External/Internal) – Proactively consults with senior/s on issues arising that may impact the broader deliverables of the team to clients.
  • Operational Effectiveness – Remains aware of risk in area of expertise in alignment with Deloitte policies and processes





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Supplies Management or Degree in a Business-related field with a Procurement major from a recognized university;
  • At least three (3) years of relevant work experience in procurement and supply chain management;
  • Membership or undertaking studies leading to qualification of Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) / Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)/ Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) is an advantage;
  • Working knowledge of SAP systems and related software is an advantage; and,
  • Be a Ugandan Citizen.
