Job Summary: To perform a range of HR tasks to support accurate implementation of WFP policies and procedures and facilitate the effective functioning of a client-focused and strategy-oriented HR services.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Human Resources Officer, the incumbent will be required to undertake the following tasks: –

  • Coordinate with the internal units/offices on HR related functions, i.e., learning & development, performance management, maintain HR information management systems, payroll, contracts, etc. and provide necessary information to enable timely execution HR services.
  • Draft various HR related documentation, in line with HR policies and procedures; as well as being keen on accuracy and meeting established deadlines
  • Coordinate employee engagement activities for example General Staff Meetings (GSM), HR related surveys, staff wellness initiatives, HR related sessions, etc.
  • Respond to HR related inquiries /queries and escalate where appropriate, to provide timely services to clients.
  • Support processing and managing routine administrative and financial tasks to contribute to the effective and timely management of resources.
  • Take responsibility for data integrity to facilitate availability of accurate information in corporate systems.
  • Work with a variety of individuals, taking on feedback where appropriate to assist in business support delivery for staff
  • Provide assistance on general HR queries and follow up actions, to ensure consistent and high-quality HR services are delivered to clients.
  • Extract and compile HR data to support analysis and reporting needs.
  • Provide guidance and on-the-job training to other staff, to support their development and increased knowledge of HR systems and procedures required to perform their duties
  • Provide administrative support in various HR activities in the areas of work allocated by the professional officer including on boarding of new staff members in compliance with relevant processes and procedures.
  • Support staff deployment and related administrative actions including preparation of basic reports, to facilitate efficient HR service enabling WFP to respond quickly to a crisis.
  • Oversee the maintenance of confidential personnel records, HR databases and archives, to ensure data and files are accurately stored and updated in compliance with the established standards.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal applicant must hold a University degree in Human Resource Management, Public or Business Administration, Industrial /Organizational Psychology, or any other related field, attained from a recognized institution.
  • At least five (5) years of relevant working experience in Human Resources management and development, administration, gained from reputable organizations.
  • Proficiency in both oral and written English is essential.
  • Good working knowledge and experience using MS Office applications and HR Information Management Systems
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work with teams remotely
  • Ability to quickly build credibility with internal stakeholders
  • Ability to work well with a diverse team and demonstrated business partnering skills
  • Creative problem solver, flexible and constructive approach
  • Ability to prioritise multiple stakeholder requests.
  • Working knowledge of English
