Job Summary:  The Senior Subcontracts Engineer manages high Risk High Value Subcontracts from project award to project completion. Successful candidates must have 10 or more years of relevant experience and recognized expertise in large international onshore/offshore oil and gas projects with at least 5 years of supervisory experience. The working environment is multicultural and demands considerable experience in the project process working with International Clients and Contractors. Strong communication skills, fluent spoken and written English.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Subcontract deliverables include Project Procedures
  • Prepare RFQ Packages, development of Commercial Bid Analysis (CBE) and coordination of Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE)
  • Assist Subcontract Manager /Sr. Subcon Specialist to award contract.
  • Good knowledge of post-award subcontract management & execution
  • Experience in Change Management and management of Unit Rate based Subcontracts
  • progress evaluation review & payment certification
  • Manages independently large value high Risk subcontracts.
  • Works as part of project team and reports to Subcontracts Manager for the project.
  • Ensure that the National Content Plan is followed by all parties (McDermott and Subcontractors).
  • Managing the training and advancement of local employees and ensuring that knowledge of the company’s policies and procedures are included.




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a BSc Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or similar professional qualification
  • At least ten years of total experience in Subcontract administration activities on EPC projects in the Oil and Gas industry
  • Ability to prepare negotiation strategies / techniques and participate / lead negotiations
  • Good knowledge of post-award subcontract management & execution
  • Experience in Change Management and management of Unit Rate based Subcontracts
  • Ability to prepare negotiation strategies / techniques and participate / lead negotiations
  • Proficiency in computer skills for Subcontract management forecasting
