BRAC Uganda Bank Ltd launched on 25 April 2019 and attained its current status as a Tier II Credit institution following a successful background as the leading Microfinances services provider in Uganda. The bank operates 32 regulated branches and 131 satellite offices covering 84 districts in Uganda targeting Micro, Small. and Medium Entrepreneurs. BRAC Uganda Bank Ltd promotes financial inclusion by extending financial services to unserved and underserved populations especially women and youth as well as people living in poverty in rural areas. The Bank is operationally and financially self-sustaining with over 231,000 active customers and a loan book in excess of Ushs.175 billion.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To support functional teams (product, digital, social performance etc) in implementing integrated projects, coordinate credit activities with the NGO team, lead grant management activities from the credit side and support knowledge management for operational learning
  • Work closely with NGO counterpart (s) in coordination with the credit operations team and the product/ business development, digital, social performance
  • Organize and attend periodic coordination meetings with the NGO counterparts.
  • Make sure the meeting is informative and action-oriented-set agendas, ensure participation, prepare the required information, take notes and follow-up on action items
  • Train and guide field level staff on understanding the integrated nature of program delivery and bring structure to coordination between different programs at the branch level. Visit and monitor field activities and ensure structured coordination between staff and Stock holders at all levels of the organization
  • Make sure learnings from operational challenges and opportunities are shared with the management on a timely basis and that they are used effectively to help with change management
  • Ensure grants reporting follows the set process in a timely manner
  • Any other duty that may be assigned




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Development Studies or related field
  • Five years of experience in the development sector preferably in a microfinance/Bank at management or Supervisory level
  • Strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to distil complex information into concise and pragmatic messages. Able to communicate effectively and tailor communication for a wide variety of audiences.
  • Diplomatic and highly effective on an interpersonal level in addition to cross-culture sensitivity
  • Ability to interpret financial data and prepare budgets and financial reports Know-how to validate, record and store knowledge in a usable structured, digital format
  • Tech-survey with strong ability to learn and use new technologies, strong proficiency in Microsoft office applications (Excel, Power Point etc) required, and proficiencies in knowledge management databases and/or professional services applications preferred.
