Job Summary:  The Credit Officer, Reporting will be responsible for internal and external reporting, with primary focus on IFRS9 workstreams, Policies and Guidelines.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Make periodic updates of internal customer information and related inputs to the IFRS9 model and generate good quality reports. Such internal information may include, but not limited to, client’s credit classification/staging, collateral details, e.t.c.
  • Prepare and update probability of default (PDs) assumptions in the IFRS9 model, for various sectors on quarterly / annual basis using macroeconomic factors that are relevant and appropriate for the Bank’s credit portfolio
  • Support the businesses to run simulations of Expected Credit Losses (ECL’s) for new/proposed credit facilities at the time of credit underwriting.
  • Compute month ECL computations on all bank assets.
  • Review monthly / Quarterly foreclosure listings to update the time to realisation / time to sell that is used to discount the collateral.
  • Compute monthly Credit Conversion Factor (CCF) Value.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that reports are accurate.
  • Ensure timely submission of IFRS9 reports to internal and external stakeholders within the set timelines.
  • Support management with any other reporting requirements as might be required from time to time.




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business, Accounting, Statistics or Economics.
  • A postgraduate degree or professional qualification in accounting or related field would be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of four years’ experience in accounting, finance, reporting roles or equivalent experience
  • Strong data analytics ability
  • Reasonable understanding of credit products and metrics
  • Good understanding of macro-economic variables
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work well under
