Reports To: Country Director

 

About US:

Sozo Children International is a Christian non-government organization operates multiple children’s homes in Uganda, providing quality care to children through a well experienced and trained team of Ugandan care-givers, the children of Sozo are loved, nurtured, and equipped with proper nutrition, healthcare, quality education, spiritual development and life skills to impact positive lives.

 

Job Summary:  The position holder has a responsibility to ensure that the everyday activities of Sozo Children in Uganda run smoothly and efficiently to achieve the organizations objectives.

The Operations Director is charged with developing people, policies and procedures for Uganda in cooperation with the all all Sozo Directors.




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate must hold Masters of Business Administration or equivalent experience will be of added advantage
  • At least seven years of experience working directly with a Christ-centered, child- focused NGO is desired
  • Must be a born again Christian and possess the discernment to gather and communicate information about physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs and supervise a team to implement services to meet those needs
  • Strong analytical skills and experience
  • Must be able to speak English fluently
  • Proven fundraising and network chain development skills
  • Proven ability to resolve issues in a calm and efficient manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact well with different cultures
  • Computer skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Extremely collegial and leads by example
  • A hands-on servant leader with integrity and a passion for the organization’s mission is essential.
