Job Title:  Counsellor (Several Fresher Jobs)

The Joint Clinical Research Centre (JCRC) is an indigenous medical organization that was established in 1991 as a limited liability not-for-profit Joint-venture between the Uganda Ministry of Health (MoH), Ministry of Defense and Makerere University Medical School (now Makerere College of Health Sciences).

Job Summary:  The Counsellor will provide comprehensive counselling services to patients in chronic care in the HIV clinic, antenatal care/Mother-Baby care points, and Tuberculosis Units.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• The applicant must hold a Diploma in Counselling.
• A relevant bachelor’s degree in social work, counselling psychology, guidance will be an added advantage
• Short term capacity development courses on HIV counselling is an added advantage
• The applicant should preferably have at least one year of experience in HIV Counselling and have experience in supporting HIV / AIDS and TB prevention and care services (both facility and community).
• A clear and concise understanding of the psychosocial issues relating to health and illness
• Deep knowledge of care planning procedures
• Good communication, team building, innovative skills
