AIRD Uganda is non-governmental, non-political, non-religious and non-profit making organization with the main aim of protecting and seeking durable solutions for Refugees and IDP’s in Africa in partnership with UNHCR, the UN refugee agency.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, create and modify databases in MS Access and/or SQL Server
  • Maintain and improve upon the current data management and reporting systems based on feedback from Data officers.
  • Liaise with study team members to investigate and rectify data queries.
  • Oversee entire data life cycle from data collection to final clean datasets. Incorporate new projects into the current data management system.
  • Design and create Dashboards to interact with project databases for reporting, extracting data, viewing data.
  • Perform regular audits and troubleshoot the AIRD (ERP) databases to ensure data integrity and quality

  • Keep abreast of all developments in the operation to prepare appropriate reports, briefing and background notes, and other documentation as required;
  • Liaise closely with all Field Offices/Units in order to gather and collate accurate data about all departments,
  • Consolidate and analyze data on programme implementation and indicators (e.g. fuel, workshops, transport etc in order to facilitate the preparation of periodic reports, i.e. weekly Monthly reports or any other activity-specific reports as required
  • Provide analytical reports to inform the development of the Integrated Annual Work plan, quarterly and annual reviews of Integrated Annual Work Plan for AIRD and funder (UNHCR).
  • Supervise data entry/officer personnel.
  • Ensure data from all projects is entered accurately and in a timely manner-prioritize projects as need arises.
  • Administer Windows server and SQL Servers, manage, troubleshoot and respond to infrastructure and application issues.
  • Help project staff with computer-related problems, requests, or questions.
  • Participate in the compilation of quarterly reports to CPD, Program Manager, SOMs, UNHCR and other key stakeholders on status of implementation of the AIRD day to day activities in conformity with agreed reporting requirements.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Management, M&E, Statistics and any IT related courses from a recognized University
  • Three years of related work experience in data management
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of programming languages, PHP, JavaScript, MySQL, Python etc.
  • Experience in designing the structure of databases and writing appropriate interfaces (e.g. dashboards) and ensure data quality and security
  • Articulate, analytical and decisive with excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills;
  • Ability to think independently and work under minimal supervision
  • Team work, networking and interpersonal relations
  • Knowledge of website and database management and maintenance
  • Professional ability to handle sensitive information
