Job Summary:  The Credit Administration Manager is a member of the Credit Management function at head office expected to work with the Credit Manager and Credit Analysts to lead and exercise oversight over all the Credit Underwriting Processes of FINCA Uganda in line with the subsidiary strategic plan. This position requires a person with unique skills, able to interact well with FINCA Uganda’s internal staff and external parties, to ensure appropriate monitoring and management of credit risk, in full compliance with local laws, regulations, and internal policies and procedures.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Quality of FINCA Uganda’s Credit Underwriting – this includes leading and direct oversight over the central credit underwriting and approval processes and ensuring quality of branch based underwriting practices and loan approvals, effective from quality onboarding of loan clients to objective approval of credit facilities at all levels.
  • Quality of the Loan Portfolio – this includes achieving portfolio quality targets, working directly with credit Product Managers, Credit Analysts and Data Analytics teams to deliver credit offerings for FINCA Uganda with sound credit management practices, aimed at set targets of the loan portfolio quality.
  • Credit Policy Administration; ensuring that policies, procedures and lending processes, required to implement sound credit underwriting practices are effectively communicated, disseminated and implemented; and collecting feedback highlighting areas where policy reviews are required.
  • People Management and Capacity building – this includes direct oversight of the Central Credit Underwriting team, building and testing competence of the team, training & development, technical guidance, rotation, performance tracking and management, and effective communication aimed at inspiring desired performance of all credit underwriting staff particularly credit analysts and credit supervisors, to achieve the desired competencies and efficiency.
  • CRB Data Quality – It is the role of the Credit Administration Manager to ensure accuracy, integrity and completeness of CRB Data Management and Reporting; and coordinating FINCA Uganda’s collaborations with the Credit Bureaus in the country.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a bachelors’ degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Statistics, and Accounting, Banking or any other business -related field.
  • Master’s degree or Professional Qualification in any business discipline shall be considered added advantage.
  • The desired candidate must have at least two years of experience as Regional Manager or Credit Product Manager or three years of experience as Credit Analyst or Branch Manager in a Bank of Uganda regulated financial Institution.
