Job Summary:  The Business Analyst will work across the business to identify opportunities, problems, and challenges through review of financial and operational reports and conducting market research. Define client and business requirements, develop cross functional strategies and solutions, and support their implementation to optimise business performance and achieve company goals.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Client

  • Utilise a structured approach, methodology and business intelligence tools to gather data and analyse the various business environments in order to identify opportunities, problems, challenges.
  • Communicate key findings and insights to stakeholders and recommend strategies and actions.
  • Work with stakeholders to continuously identify client needs, business requirements and implement solutions to improve business outcomes.
  • Establish long-term business relationships with stakeholders by demonstrating a sound understanding of their business environment, and consistently appropriate insights and recommendations.

Product

  • Support stakeholders in identifying opportunities, scoping requirements, developing business cases; analysing benefits, impacts and costs, and undertaking an appraisal of options in relation to investment and feasibility.
  • Monitor and track business performance against projected or expected outcomes and recommend actions to address variance.
  • Identify, articulate, document and escalate issues when appropriate to ensure that critical action items are resolved in a timely manner.

Process

  • Develop, review, test and implement business processes and procedures to improve company efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Identify business requirements, resources, milestone criteria, task dependencies, and create schedules that effectively manage simultaneous activities.
  • Contribute to the development of business analysis and improvement tools and techniques.

Data

  • Provide models, data, and insights to inform goal setting, planning, forecasting, budgeting, and decision making.
  • Define business data, reporting and analysis requirements, and enhance business reporting with data, visualization, and detailed analysis.

People

  • Maintain effective stakeholder relationships with the business areas, information technology (IT), and project/programme managers in relation to work assignments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in defining, validating, and prioritizing business requirements and gain consensus on scoped activities.
  • Present findings, insights, and observations to the team for development of recommendations.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert from a Business analysis perspective and provides input into business decisions.
  • Ensure ongoing knowledge of industry standards as well as best practice in Business analysis.




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant for the Stanbic Bank Business Analyst job must hold a Degree in an analytical and quantitative field such as computer science, engineering, Statistics, business science.
  • Certification in Business analysis/ Business statistics/ data science is an added advantage
  • Five years + Business Analysis experience working within a software delivery environment.
  • Experience working in regulated industries/sectors and Knowledge of the financial service industry, digital solutions or Fintech is a bonus
  • Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modelling, verification, and methodology development.
  • Experience working with senior decision makers in a fast-paced agile environment.
  • Experience working in Agile Software Development environments.
  • Experience of the full Project lifecycle and methodologies (Prince2, Agile, Waterfall).
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

 

Certifications (A big plus)

  • Oracle Certified Professional, Java EE 7 Application Developer
  • Oracle Certified Professional Java Programmer (OCPJP) certification
  • Oracle Certified Associate Java Programmer (OCAJP) – Java SE 8 and Java SE 11
  • Oracle Certified Professional Java Programmer (OCPJP) – Java SE 8 and Java SE 11
  • Oracle Certified Professional Java Application Developer (OCPJAD) – Java EE 7
  • Oracle Certified Master Java Enterprise Architect (OCMJEA) – Available for Java EE 6
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
  • AWS Certified Developer – Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • CompTIA Cloud+
