About US:

Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) is a semi-autonomous agency of Government responsible for maintenance, coordination, supervising and monitoring of the National Statistical System to ensure the collection, analysis and dissemination of standardised statistical information. The Bureau is also mandated as the principal official statistics producing agency in the country.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Capture data manually in the availed platforms (Key from Paper);
  • Compile, verify accuracy and Sort information to prepare source data for computer entry
  • Edit and Code questionnaires;
  • Edit, validate data entered and accounting information into the databases
  • Pay attention to details and input data correctly and accurately.
  • Sort and Batch questionnaires; and
  • Undertake any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate for the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) Data Operator job must hold a Uganda Advanced Level Certificate (“A” Level) or its equivalent;
  • A credit in Maths and English at O’ Level
  • A minimum speed of 150 key strokes per minute.
  • Ability to work under pressure and able to work with teams
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written directives;
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills.
