We provide specialist engineering and project management services in the fields of water resources and hydraulic engineering, urban water management, drainage and flood risk management, dams and hydropower engineering, water/wastewater treatment process design, environmental technologies and renewable energy, structural/bridge engineering, transportation engineering and applied research. We work closely with clients to understand their technical and commercial needs and deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions to meet their business needs.

 

Job Summary:  MEIR is seeking to recruit a full time HR/Administrative Assistant with a strong desire to grow their skills in corporate office administration and human resource management.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Administration

  • Receive and relay all incoming and outgoing telephone calls, mail & visitors;
  • Ensure timely delivery of in-coming and out-going mail/courier and maintain a signed register for these documents;
  • Organize company meetings and events and take minutes in official meetings;
  • Ensure regular and timely service/maintenance of office printers/photocopiers/scanners, etc;
  • Keep all company key documents (Admin, HR and Legal) and intellectual property safe and ensure they are filed in an orderly and timely manner;
  • Maintain proper stock of office supplies, regularly track all utility-related bills, raise payment requests in a timely manner and ensure all requisitions for stationery are properly documented and endorsed;
  • Coordinate the office, field and international travel requirements for the Organisation and ensure proper vehicle fleet management, including timely services and repairs; fuel management, and adherence to the vehicle policy by drivers and passengers;
  • Ensure that the Company’s website, LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook accounts are periodically updated and improved to provide timely information to our diverse clientele;
  • Provide administrative support to the Managing Director;

Human Resources Management

  • Administer payroll and maintain employee records;
  • Ensure a conducive and secure working environment for Staff;
  • Provide support in implementation of HR policies (working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures and absence management);
  • Plan for and execute staff inductions for new employees;
  • Analyze training needs in conjunction with departmental managers.




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a First Class or Upper Second Bachelor’s Degree in Arts (BA Arts or Social Work and Social Administration) or Bachelors in Business Administration
  • One to two years of professional experience in a busy corporate office environment
  • Good working knowledge of ICT (related software, phone, email, internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills and high level of motivation
  • Excellent social media marketing skills (Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter)
  • Willingness to improve skills in line with the tasks to be performed
  • Ability to work under pressure on several, parallel assignments is essential!
