About Project:

The KCBF-GIZ, Employment for Development (E4D) Project is a joint KCBF and GIZ Project that seeks to increase employability and income generation through skills and enterprise development in the construction sector in Uganda for a total of 2,000 youth. To support E4D Project entrepreneurs in developing strategies for market acquisition, product selling, branding and business plan development.

 

Job Summary:  The Business Development Manager shall be responsible for overall implementation of the KCBF-GIZ E4D Project for Uganda. He/she shall be responsible for the overall Project and Financial Management, including planning, coordinating and implementation of the project; supporting monitoring, evaluation and learning; communications; optimal use of resources and the oversight of project strategic partnerships.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Mobilize and recruit beneficiaries into the E4D Uganda Project.
  • Oversee training of the recruited beneficiaries in collaboration with the selected training partners, including quality assurance of the trainings.
  • Establish linkages with other stakeholders in Uganda, to create opportunities for industrial attachments and job opportunities for the project beneficiaries.
  • Deliver interventions around capacity building and strengthening of vocational businesses for financial inclusion
  • Coordinate the Business Development Officers (BDOs) in the development of business plans, on-boarding workshops, business incubation services to all the beneficiaries.
  • Lead the BDOs in providing business incubation services to the beneficiaries for enterprise development.
  • Work with Country MD, Head of Marketing and KCBF Programme managers to ensure effective management of the relationships with KCB Foundation and the Project implementing partners and implementing partner institutions.
  • Coordinate with concerned local government, public sector and private sector partners and leverage necessary support for the program whilst strengthening linkages with the stakeholders.
  • Work with other KCB Bank Uganda functions to ensure compliance to Bank’s policies and procedures in execution of the Project including compliance to credit policies; work with other Bank’s functions to support integration of other Bank products into the Project.
  • Provide timely and effective program documentation, data management and reporting of the Project activities and performance, including success stories and testimonials
  • Ensure implementation of youth KCBF Safeguarding Policy and Procedures within the E4D Project.
  • Provide leadership to the team of BDOs working with him/her including performance management and talent development.
  • Successfully transition matured business enterprises to the bank through Shared value proposition




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree of Commerce (Finance or Accounting Option)/ Bachelor of Arts Economics/ BSC Mathematics/Engineering or any other related business discipline from a recognized and reputable institution. A Master’s in Business Administration is an added advantage.
  • At least three years of relevant work experience.
