and South Sudan. On behalf of our client, we are looking for a competent, skilled,
and experienced Route planning Associate to work in Kampala Uganda.

 

Job Summary:  The Route Planning Associate will be
responsible for the operational activities of the Delivery function with duties
including, but not limited to, route planning, health and safety implementation
by ensuring actual driving/ delivery shift time is within the required legal
parameters, On Time In Full Delivery performance and overall service quality
across the Company delivery value chain.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
To
perform route planning across the Company Delivery network using the Company
authorized information system platform, and review clusters per route every day
in light with the growth and Dynamic Route Planning expectations.

·       
To
manage projects/ participate in projects relating to expansion, with a focus on
resources mobilization that balances between people, processes, and information
system deployment.

·       
To
ensure all operational expenses related to the Company Deliveries are
maintained within the laid budget (planning to optimize routes and reduce
actual driving distances, and leverage on optimal service time to deliver best
in class On Time Delivery Service).

·       
Schedule
deliveries and assign to appropriately trained / vetted drivers.

·       
Responsible
for ensuring all Delivery activity is carried out in a professional manner and
complies with current legislation governing drivers.

·       
Decide
and plan on approved 3rd party support for deliveries (i.e. appropriately
trained and vetted subcontractors).

·       
Continuously
monitor the delivery status and report any unsolved discrepancies to the
Performance Supervisor or senior route planner.

·       
Take
action to solve potential deliveries delays e.g. coordinating drivers and
driver assistants

·       
Inform
Customer Service on (potential) delays impacting agreed service levels and
negative status codes.

·       
To
manage DA and driver performance across the Company fleet using Company
Delivery App, C-track and Chartio delivery Dashboard. Company

·       
Plan
deliveries according to capacity and consult the vehicle sourcing supervisor to
facilitate trucks, solve outbound and inbound related issues on real-time
basis.

·       
Work
with Sales operation on New agents sign up and delivery.

·       
Comply
with state laws on occupational health & safety in transport.

·       
Develop,
maintain, and adhere to vehicle safety procedures as well as driver and
delivery assistant orientation programs.

·       
Coordinate
Outbound and Inbound Logistics planning

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
A Higher
Diploma/Degree in Logistics and supply chain management or any related field.

·       
CILT
Professional Qualifications will be an added advantage.

·       
Having
experience in route-planning and/or having worked with the Company programmes
or similar software, is advantageous.

·       
Ability
to work on various information systems platforms such as Route Planning/
Scheduling Software, Fleet Management Systems, Warehouse Management Systems and
Microsoft Word Suite programs.

·       
Knowledge
of the rural/ peri-urban delivery network and the various parties within the
value chain.

·       
A team
worker with excellent verbal, written and communication skills.

·       
Analytical
and result oriented.

·       
A good
planner and organizer.

·       
Proactive
in their work and take the initiative to propose and implement new approaches.

·       
High
level of integrity.

·       
Innovative
and out of the box thinking.

·       
Should
have good judgment.

·       
Should
be able to structure tasks.
