About US:

Partners for
Children World Wide (PFCW) is a Child focused non – governmental organization
operating in the districts of; Soroti, Serere, Amuria, Kapelebyong, Katakwi and
Kaberamaido supporting communities to address the plight of Deprived, Excluded
and Vulnerable children in the operational area. PfCW works with vulnerable
communities and other actors to address child poverty and adversity.

 

Job Summary:   The Project
Officer will mainly ensure effective planning, coordination, implementation,
supervision, reporting, monitoring and evaluation of BMZ economic empowerment
project activities in Katakwi, Amuria, Serere and Dokolo districts. He/She will
also document lessons learnt and best practices, build capacities of
communities; provide technical support and mentor 4 Project Assistants,
community volunteers and TOTs to deliver sustainable  community development programs with a goal of
becoming a “leader for economic empowerment, child protection and development.”

 

The Job holder will
play a critical role in the timely implementation of the project, lead, M and E
processes including timely reporting.

 

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:

·       
Coordination of the project

·       
Planning and implementation of project activities

·       
Spearheading advocacy initiatives on extension
services

·       
Representing PfCW in relevant fora and seminars

·       
Project Monitoring and Evaluation

·       
Collaborating and networking

·       
Accountability and Budgetary Control

·       
Responsibility for assigned ad hoc duties

·       
Project team leadership and supervision

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
ideal candidate must hold a
Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Social Sciences,
Development Studies or any other related field.

·       
Post-graduate qualification in Project Planning and Management is an added
advantage

·       
A minimum of three (3) years post qualification
experience in a similar position working on community projects in a development
organization.

·       
A minimum two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory role reporting to a middle manager.

·       
Experience working in Livelihood/youth empowerment
projects is an added advantage.

·       
Previous experience with BMZ funded projects is an
added advantage.

·       
High Proficiency in Computer skills

·       
Proficiency in computer application is a must.

·       
Excellent reporting and meeting deadlines.

·       
Strong Team and interpersonal skills.

·       
Ability to work under pressure and meeting the job
expectations and demands.

·       
Flexibility

·       
Ability to develop and implement activities in line with tested
participatory approaches and within the organization broad approaches and
strategies.

·       
A good understanding, appreciation and adherence to
child protection issues/ policies.

·       
Knowledge and skills in engaging youths and adults in activities that promotes their
economic empowerment.

·       
Demonstrated abilities in supervision and mentorship
are required.

·       
Knowledge and skills in community resource
mobilization and project planning and management.

·       
Experience in Disaster management and emergency response will be added
advantage.

·       
Demonstrated experience in partnership engagement
