trading by the name Capital Finance Corporation Limited. Licensed and
supervised by Bank of Uganda under the Financial Institutions Act 2004, Capital
Finance Corporation Limited offered a wide range of products such as savings accounts,
business accounts, fixed deposits, business loans services and remittances
through Western Union money transfer agency. ABC Capital Bank is part of ABC
Group, Kenya and has ambitious growth plans.

 

Job Summary:   The Finance Manager will ensure the integrity
of the finance management systems of the Bank, contribute to the development
and implementation of a finance strategy duly approved by the Bank taking into
account profitability, balance sheet growth, growth impacts, and capital
requirements and risk for the long term sustainability and growth of the Bank.

 

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:

·       
Preparation
of the annual business plan, capital expenditure, operating budget and periodic
revised estimates.

·       
Preparation
of key micro and macro assumptions for input into the planning and budgeting
process.

·       
Comply
with the risk management limits and guidelines and ensure their implementation
across the bank.

·       
To
ensure the overall integrity and accuracy of the General Ledger as a basis for
the preparation of Financial and Management Reporting

·       
Develop
and implement reporting of key management information ensuring data integrity
and timely communication to relevant stakeholders.

·       
Drive
the required business analysis and related process for making recommendations for
new or improving performance opportunities.

·       
Providing
detailed monthly performance statements and analysis for the Bank and its
individual business lines, discuss, plan, and monitor interventions to keep the
business units on budget. Investigate variances and recommend remedial measures
where necessary.

·       
Identify
areas of performance shortfall and propose corrective interventions.

·       
Supervise
the operations of the Finance Department including financial reporting,
management accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable and,
reconciliations.

·       
Participate
in setting the Bank’s finance strategy and objectives.

·       
Ensure
that all internal and external reporting requirements are timely met, including
preparation of monthly and quarterly accounts, and Statutory Annual Financial
Statements.

·       
Comply
with the applicable laws and regulations related to tax and statutory payments;
(Corporate Tax, PAYE, NSSF, With Holding Tax e.t.c)

·       
Being
the custodian of the General Ledger, Chart of Accounts, and the central
repository for all Financial and Management information for the Bank.

·       
Monitoring
all balance sheet and income statement account movements and ensuring that they
reflect the correct balances and all relevant account reconciliations are
performed and corrective actions taken timely.

·       
Ensure
maintenance of and adherence to the Bank’s accounting policies and procedures.

·       
Playing
a leading role in coaching and developing his/her team

·       
On a
regular basis review the Finance policy in coordination with Risk, Executive
Management and Board of Directors.

·       
Once the
vision is given by the Board, to actualise this vision into a strategic plan in
coordination with Risk and Executive Management.

·       
Give
guidance to the Bank on matters relating to taxation and ensure that the Bank
is not  exposed to any risk arising out
of taxation.

·       
Liaise
with External Auditors to ensure that Audit is done in a timely manner and
accounts are prepared and signed off promptly.

use of funds and increased profitability

Strict
Compliance with BOU regulations and ALCO policies

·       
Timely
Reporting to the Executive Management and BOU

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
applicant must hold a University Degree in Accounts/ Finance

·       
Professional
Accounting qualification in CPA.

·       
At least
five years of experience in Accounting and Finance function, three of which
should be in a managerial position in a bank.

·       
Strong
finance management skills

·       
Risk
Management skills

·       
Analytical
and problem solving skills

·       
Communication
(verbal and written) and interpersonal skills and Leadership Abilities
