Job Title:    Clinical Officer

Uganda

 

About US:

Alive Medical Services exists to change such circumstances for people
around the country. AMS’ doors are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to
provide free, comprehensive HIV care to some of the most vulnerable individuals
in Kampala. We are strategically located in Namuwongo, one of Kampala’s most
densely populated and impoverished neighbourhoods, to ensure we reach the most
vulnerable.

 

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  

·       
Participate
in the development and implementation of HIV/AIDS Clinic work plans.

·       
Offer
comprehensive clinical care to patients, diagnosing, treating, and managing
patients

·       
Assist
the clinic to maximize the continuum of care between the HIV/AIDS Clinic and
other aspects of the program.

·       
Participate
in the delivery of quality health care to patients.

·       
Participate
in research activities.

·       
Provide
information to clients aimed at reducing vulnerability to AIDs and other HIV
related infection

·       
Participate
in training of other workers through regular CMEs, mentorships, and other
in-service trainings.

·       
Provide
technical support to nurses and counsellors.

·       
Participate
in quality improvement activities aimed at improving service delivery and
clinical outcomes.

·       
Participate
in ensuring use of materials related to HIV/AIDS care and treatment, including
clinical guidelines, protocols, algorithms, drug formularies, training
materials, and monitoring and evaluation tools Improve adherence support
systems.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
ideal candidate must hold a diploma in Clinical Medicine. Any added
qualifications will be an added advantage.

·       
Three
years of clinical work experience gained through serving within a very busy
clinic

·       
Possession
of a valid registration certificate from the Allied Health Professional Council

·       
Excellent
communication or interpersonal skills is a must.

·       
Previous
experience in an HIV/AIDS-related field will be an added advantage.

·       
Knowledge
and experience of research methods – both quantitative and qualitative

·       
Excellent
written and oral communication and interpersonal skills Preparing and
submitting reports.

·       
Proficiency
with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power-Point)
