About US:

KOICA Uganda is a governmental organization established to effective
Official Development Assistance (ODA) to enhance the effectiveness of South
Korea’s grant aid programs for Uganda by implementing selected Government grant
aid and technical cooperation programs

 

Job Summary: The Refugee Program Specialist shall assist
in implementation of programs of KOICA and positioning KOICA intervention as
evidence based.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·        
Perform
program planning, monitoring, and evaluation for refugee projects including
site visits when it is necessary

·        
Plan,
direct, and coordinate the collection and compilation of statistical, economic,
refugee program data to assess the effectiveness of services and for future
projects to meet identified needs

·        
Monitor
quantity and quality of the projects for program effectiveness and compliance
and review refugee program eligibility

·        
Thorough
analysis and research of the political, social and economic situation in the
country and preparation of high quality documents summarizing the developments
of the country

·        
Research
established best practices and make recommendations for quality program service
delivery

·        
Provide
program support related to the design, monitoring and evaluation of development
projects with macroeconomic and modelling background

·        
Maintain
records on program activities, from formulation stage through completion, by
extracting relevant information from MoUs, Project proposals, reports, Project
committees, budget records and other documentation

·        
Research
and write reports and other documents to formulate materials to cover refugee
projects

·        
Scale up
and manage partnerships with Government ministries, other development partners,
financial institutions, key private sector actors and other related
organizations

·        
Prepare
actions such as risk analysis and contingency planning and make recommendations

·        
Prepare
and participate in related development partners‘ group meetings and produce
reports

·        
Provide
administrative support whenever required and perform any other duties that may
be assigned from time to time

·        
Other
duties assigned by Supervisor

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·        
The
applicant must hold a Masters’ degree or equivalent in international
development, international relations, political science, policy analysis,
social science, economics, or relevant discipline

·        
At least
three years of relevant experience at the national or international level in
providing management advisory services, hands-on experience in design,
monitoring and evaluation of migration/refugee response projects or other
development projects.

·        
Demonstrated
experience of writing accurate and concise reports and public presentation
skills

·        
Experience
in inter-agency coordination, preferably relevant to refugee response

·        
Experience
working with an international development organization

·        
Excellent
communication and presentation skills

·        
Good
computer skills (Proficient in Microsoft Office package and other applications
of wide usage)

·        
Impeccable
level of integrity and confidentiality

·        
Excellent
interpersonal and organizational skills

·
