company operating within Uganda that manufactures and distributes ceramic water
filters with a vision of providing access to clean and safe drinking water for
all Ugandans.

 

Job Summary:  The Marketing Officer will be responsible for
taking on a variety of tasks that allow for the successful completion of
planned marketing programs. Some travel will be required between the SPOUTS
head office, the factory at Nakawuka and other parts of Uganda in response to
the demands of the marketing program.

 

Job Summary:  The Marketing Officer is responsible for taking
on a variety of tasks that allow for the successful completion of planned
marketing programs. These responsibilities include organizing campaigns and
developing marketing strategies among others. This work will be a critical
factor for the smooth operation of the Sales & Marketing department and the
attainment of its goals, as well as for the long-term growth of the company.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Lead a
team of marketing assistants to develop and execute marketing strategies.

·       
Undertake
daily administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of the
department’s activities.

·       
Support
marketing executives in organizing various projects.

·       
Conduct
market research and analyse consumer rating reports/ questionnaires.

·       
Employ
marketing analytics techniques to gather important data (social media, web
analytics, rankings etc.).

·       
Update
spreadsheets, databases and inventories with statistical, financial and
non-financial information.

·       
Lead in
the organizing and monitoring of promotional events and traditional or digital
campaigns and programs and attend them to facilitate their success.

·       
Prepare
and deliver promotional presentations.

·       
Compose
and post online content on the company’s website and social media accounts.

·       
Write
marketing literature (brochures, press releases etc) to augment the company’s
presence in the market.

·       
Communicate
directly with clients and encourage trusting relationships.

·       
Other
responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

·       
Submit
ideas for experimental marketing programs designed to enhance and grow the
company’s brand

·       
Demonstrate
corporate responsibility.

·       
Always
act in a manner consistent with SPOUTS’ values.

·       
Comply
with the SPOUTS’ standards of conduct and all applicable policies and
legislation.

·       
Represent
SPOUTS in public and official forums, functions and joint ventures as required.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Qualifications/ Experience

·       
Proven
experience as a Marketing Officer for a minimum of 2 years.

·       
A
qualification relevant to the work of the Marketing Officer will be highly
regarded.

understanding of digital marketing.

·       
Demonstrable
ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines

of market research techniques and databases

·       
Language:
High level of competence in
spoken and written English language skills. Other local language skills are a
plus.
