Joint Aid Management
(JAM) is a humanitarian relief and development organization in Africa founded
in 1984 by Peter and Ann Pretorius. Aimed at fighting hunger, poverty and
malnutrition in Africa, our programmes provide food security and proper
nutrition, clean water sources and sanitation as well as emergency relief in
the communities in which we work namely Angola, Mozambique, Rwanda, South
Africa, South Sudan, Sierra Leone and Uganda. For more than three decades, we
have effected sustainable changes through these programmes, Jam Uganda Helping

Job Summary:  The Driver will perform work in the operation
of JAM vehicle to assure safe transportation of authorized personnel among whom
are: beneficiaries, partners and staff to and from various destinations. You
will receive direction and route assignments from your supervisor.

 

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:

·        
Maintenance
of the vehicles as required and complete the log books with all the required
details.

·        
Maintain
all vehicles entrusted to you and keep them clean at all times, be responsible
for reporting the condition of the vehicles. Services requirements, unusual
noises, and areas needing attention or other malfunctions and ensure that the
vehicles are checked without delay.

·        
Be
responsible for maintaining vehicle records, such as purpose of trip, mileage
and vehicle maintenance.

·        
Drive as
assigned route to transport organization staff/individuals to and from various
service locations, work sites, institution, facilities and other locations.

·        
Responsible
for care and maintenance of vehicles and cleans interior; takes vehicles to
garage for maintenance and repair in co-operation with the finance team and
other staff.

·        
Perform
any other duties assigned to you by your supervisors.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·        
The
applicant must hold a minimum of an Ordinary level certificate of Education

·        
Valid
driving license

·        
At least
two years of work experience in an NGO environment

·        
Basic
knowledge in motor vehicle maintenance

·        
Demonstrated
ability to prepare vehicle reports

·        
A
demonstrated ability to multi-task and process information into action so as
not to delay processes

·        
Should
have excellent interpersonal skills
