About US:

The National
Information Technology Authority-Uganda (NITA-U) is an autonomous statutory
body established under the NITA-U Act 2009, The Authority is under the general
supervision of the Ministry of Information Communications Technology and
National Guidance (MOICT&NG).

 

The National
Information Technology Authority, Uganda was established with a mandate to
coordinate, promote and monitor the development of IT in the context of social
and economic development of Uganda.

 

Job Summary:  The Risk Management Analyst will be responsible
for Risk management function and reporting under the Internal Audit department
in the delivery in Enterprise Risk Management & Compliance frameworks

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Responsible
for Risk management and reporting in the delivery of the Enterprise risk
management within NITA-U.

·       
Assist
in the analysis of NITA-U risk exposures that pose an internal or external
threat to the business, its people, clients and its assets and make necessary
recommendations.

·       
Spearhead
the Automation of the NITA-U Risk Management Program

·       
Responsible
for the NITA-U Master Risk Register and reporting on Enterprise Risk Management

·       
Liaise
and provide expertise to the NITA-U directorate risk champions in the
identification and development of the respective directorate risk registers.

·       
Examine
and test Internal Risk management Mitigation controls and report on their
implementation

·       
Support
in the Consolidation and reporting on corrective action on NITA-U Top risks,
Risk appetite and proposed risk mitigations plans.

·       
Update
the risk management system and monitor regulatory developments and recommend
modifications to existing practices

·       
Support
and report on Risk related value for money transactions and highlight areas for
improvement within the organisation

·       
Generate
reports, and using appropriate dash boards, report the effects of risks and
suggest changes to the management based on the solutions to adopt newer
strategies to overcome the risks.

·       
Present
the NITA-U risk profile plotted on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

·       
Coordinate
and facilitate Awareness and Training for Risk Management, practices and procedures

·       
Any
other duties as signed .

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
applicant for the National Information Technology Authority-Uganda (NITA-U) Risk
Management Analyst job must hold a B.Com/BBA/ (Auditing / Accounting /Finance),
BSc (IT, or Computer Science) or any other relevant qualification equivalent
from a recognized University.

·       
Possess
relevant industry certifications in Risk Management CRISC, CRMA, ISO 31000 or
equivalent.

·       
Membership
of Internationally Recognized Professional Risk body ; Accounting or Auditing
(CIA, ACCA, CPA, ISO etc.),is an essential requirement;

·       
Post
graduate qualification in a relevant field is an added advantage

·       
At least
Five years’ experience in a Risk and Assurance function, three of which should
have been in a supervisory level in an IT environment

·       
Demonstrated
Expertise in the Use of Risk tools /dash boards.

·       
Expertise
in the development of Risk based methodologies (risk, control and auditing);
and policies, procedures, regulations and laws

·       
Experience
in planning, organizing and conducting detailed Risk Assessments

·       
Practical
knowledge of Authoring, Managing and governing Risk Management Risks practices,
Policies and standards

·       
Excellent
Analytical, reporting and presentation skills

·       
Effective
verbal and written communications, including active listening skills

·       
Excellent
relationship building and management skills with co-workers, staff and external
contacts.

·       
Proven
leadership and competence in managing effective teams amidst challenging audit
assignments
