Manager and Head of Finance

 

About US:

Mengo Hospital was
founded in 1897 in Kampala, and is the oldest hospital in Uganda. It currently
serves as an urban community hospital that provides modern medical care. Mengo
Hospital provides comprehensive care including radiology, obstetrics,
dentistry, orthopedics, and surgery. Additionally, Mengo Hospital provides
critical training and education to health professionals through its various
programs in midwifery and nursing, health sciences, and laboratory technology.
Mengo Hospital also has a dedicated research and development team that works to
find new solutions to health issues in Uganda.

 

Job Summary:  The Project Accountant will be tasked with accounting
analysis, development and maintenance of various financial reports, budget
analysis, and ensuring accuracy of financial transactions and compliance with
Mengo Hospital policies and donors’ requirements.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
applicant must be a graduate in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Business.

·       
At least
level two of Professional Accounting qualification (ACCA or CPA)

·       
Good
computer literacy with excellent use of Office-Excel, Word, Power point and
experience in use of accounting    
software and ERP.

·       
At least
two years’ experience in Accounts, Finance or similar project role preferably
with implementation of donor grant contracts.

·       
A very
high level of Integrity and professionalism

·       
Proficiency
in electronic accounting systems.

·       
Ability
to report to the Project Manager, and to the technical Accounting Supervisor.

·       
Advanced
proficiency in managing general ledgers, journal entries, and account
reconciliations

·       
Exceptional
ability to prepare project budgets, financial forecasts, and tax reports.

·       
Extensive
experience in project invoicing and billing.

·       
In-depth
knowledge of best practices in accounting.

·       
Good
communication and interpersonal skills capable of maintaining strong relationships

·       
Attention
to details even under pressure

·       
Time
management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
