About US:

Multi Community Based Development Initiative (MUCOBADI) a local NGO
founded in 2000 by Community Development Volunteers to bring development, but in
particular to support people living with HIV to be productive. MUCOBADI is
registered as a Non-Government Organization (S.5914/7569) and is incorporated
as a company limited by Guarantee.

 

About Project:

MUCOBADI is an Implementing Partner of the USAID/Improving Care and
Resilience for Children and Youth Activity (USAID/ICARE) in East Central Uganda
whose goal is to prevent new HIV infections and reduce vulnerability among OVC
and Adolescent Girls and Young Women. The expected results for the project
include; Strengthened and sustained identification, retention and viral suppression
of children and adolescents with HIV, along with caregivers, Improved health
and prospects and reduced risk of violence and HIV for highly vulnerable
adolescents and Strengthened prevention and response to violence against
children and youth.

 

Job Summary:   Reporting
to the Program Specialist, the Youth Champion will be responsible for
Mobilization, Sensitization and formation of new youth clubs and give routine
support supervision to the youth clubs and CLHIV to ensure adherence to the
better outcomes youth programming principles and standards.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Conduct
community based viral monitoring and tracking

·       
Enrolment
of New CLHIV into care

·       
Ensure
retention of CLHIV into care

·       
Conduct
home visits to non-suppressing CLHIV

·       
Conduct
health talks to CLHIV households and in family support groups

·       
Conduct
GBV sessions in the community, schools and health facilities

·       
Mobilize
Youths to attend club sessions and other related events.

·       
Mobilize
beneficiaries to participate in intergenerational dialogues and integrated
outreaches for GBV, VAC and HIV in the respective communities.

·       
Identify,
manage and refer GBV, VAC & HIV cases.

·       
Create
awareness about GBV, VAC and HIV amongst community members using group based
and other platforms.

·       
Support
in the roll out of other economic interventions such as JFFs, alternative
skills, among others.

·       
Support
NO Means No intervention and roll out evidence based curriculum such as; SASA,
Journeys & Stepping stones) to project beneficiaries.

·       
Any
other Duties assigned by the Supervisor

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
applicant must hold an O’ Level certificate

·       
Ability
to ride a bicycle

·       
Two
years of community work experience in an NGO environment

·       
Should
be a resident in the district applied for

·       
Demonstrated
ability to prepare reports

·       
A demonstrated
ability to multi-task and process information into action so as not to delay
processes

·       
Should
have excellent interpersonal skills
