Job Summary:  The Operational Information Management and
Reports Officer (Reporting) will submit timely and quality situation reports on
COVID-19 response and strengthen OIM/R systems, processes, procedures and
protocols, work across functions, notably with Field and Area Offices,
Government Partnerships Unit, Budget and Programming, and Supply Chain and  OIM/R national officer. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Support the organisation, packaging, utilisation
and dissemination of relevant information on WFP COVID-19 response to inform
programme design, implementation and presentation to external audiences;

·       
Coordinate internal reporting requirements
inclusive of COVID-19 weekly internal situation reports, monthly country
briefs, monthly external situation reports and ad-hoc briefing material;

·       
Manage the WFP Uganda COVID-19 Knowlegde Hub,
collating relevant information and data from media and local internal and
external sources to facilitate and maximise the exchange of information and
data flow between functional area networks in WFP, to provide operational
awareness and understanding of events that may have humanitarian and/or
operational impact;

·       
Collaborate with counterparts internally and
with other UN agencies to ensure consistency in humanitarian information and to
complement WFP analysis and information;

·       
Coordinate and submit quality and timely donor
reports;

·       
Lead the preparation of the WFP Uganda Annual
Country Report in collaboration with all relevant units and ensure coherence
and quality of information.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The ideal candidate for the United Nations World
Food Programme (WFP) Operational Information Management and Reports Officer
(Reporting) job vacancy must hold an advanced University degree in Political
Science, Economics, Statistics, Information Management or Journalism, Business
Management, Social Sciences or other relevant field, or First University degree
with additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses.

·       
At least five years’ experience as an OIM/R
officer or in a related functional role.

·       
In-depth knowledge of WFP processes, systems and
OIM/R requirements is a merit.

·       
Excellent oral and written communication skills,
able to clearly articulate insights to external stakeholders and stakeholders
within WFP;

·       
Strong understanding of OIM/R concepts and
principals with a broad knowledge of best practices, techniques and processes;

·       
Strong analytical skills with the ability to
analyse and interpret information and draw out the key messages;

·       
Capacity to produce high quality products when
working under pressure and with competing deadlines;

·       
Ability to work in a team and establish
effective working relations with persons of different national and cultural
backgrounds;

·       
High capacity for organization and
cross-functional coordination, as well as an ability to work with a high degree
of independence in a team environment;

·       
Ability to adjust own communication style to
different internal and external audiences and purposes;

·       
Ability to lead, motivate and develop less
experienced/more junior staff.

Relationship Management: Demonstrates
ability to build and sustain effective collaborative relationships with
appropriate stakeholders and contacts in area of expertise to raise the profile
of WFP, build relationships and further organisational aims.

Communication Expertise: Collates
accurate and timely information in required format (i.e. written or visual
communications materials as well as verbally), to facilitate information flows
and informed decision making on communications issues.

·       
Information Analytics, Reporting &
Management:
Gathers, analyses and reports information in a manner that
draws out fact-based insights to inform approach to partner relationships and
support substantive discussion with partners. Captures relevant information and
progress, and ensures internal information sharing.

·       
Resource Mobilisation: Analyses
relevant technical data and prepares briefs to raise resources for operations,
negotiates contributions and keeps donors informed of key policies. Ensures and
oversees timely registration of contributions and forecasts, aiming for
accuracy and conformity with donors’ documentation and WFP’s rules.

·       
Business Process Support & Technical
Guidance:
Provides technical support to other business areas,
identifying procedural issues and solutions. Applies understanding to ensure
system maintenance and to support the design and implementation of system
changes, supporting users and ensuring relevant training and materials are
provided as necessary.
