About US:
The Public Service
Commission is established under the provisions of Article 165(1) of the
1995 Constitution. In fulfillment of its functions under Article 166, the
Commission is required to make a report to Parliament in respect of each year’s
performance of its functions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent will be responsible to the
Principal Legal Officer for performing the following duties:
·
Being
responsible for one of the Judicial Service Commission Regions;
·
Conducting
Court Inspections;
·
Conducting
investigations of complaints against Judicial Officers and other staff in
Judiciary;
·
Prosecuting
disciplinary cases before the Disciplinary Committee;
·
Carrying
out research on law and administration of justice;
·
Carrying
out field survey on law and administration of justice;
·
Carrying
out research on terms and conditions of service of Judicial Officers and
administration of justice;
·
Writing
reports and preparing legal opinion and memorandum;
·
Supervising
Legal Officers;
·
Any other
duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
Applicants
should be Ugandans in possession of an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a
recognized University/Institution plus a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice
from the Law Development Centre.
·
Applicants
should have three (3) years working experience in the field of Legal Practice
and Systems served at Legal Officer Level in Government or from a reputable
organization.
