Baylor-Uganda is a
private not for profit child health and development organization providing
family-centered pediatric HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment services,
health professional training, and clinical research in Uganda. Baylor College
of Medicine Children’s Foundation -Uganda (Baylor-Uganda) is an indigenous
not-for-profit child health and development organisation affiliated to the
Baylor College of Medicine International Paediatric AIDS Initiative (BIPAI), a
Network of paediatric HIV/AIDS care and treatment Children’s Clinical Centres
of Excellence and international program offices in 11 countries across Africa
and Eastern Europe.

 

Job Summary:  The Operations Manager will provide guidance
and technical oversight of the administration, procurement, facilities, stores,
and IT functions of the project as well as work closely with the finance
function and the project supervisors in ensuring timely and value-for- money project
delivery.  It will support the promotion
of inter-departmental relations, accountability for the implemented tasks,
advocate for electronic operations systems and processes, as well as ensure
operational efficiencies across all the project objectives.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
applicant must hold a Master’s Degree in Business Administration or MBA with a
related management back ground plus professional qualifications in Management
or Logistics Management, Procurement or Accounting. The candidate must have a
degree in the relevant field

·       
A
minimum of six years of experience in Operations Management.

·       
The
candidate must have at least six (6) years working experience, with three (3)
years’ experience at senior management level in a reputable organization, in a
reputable Non-Governmental Organization.

·       
Previous
exposure and experience in project management of engineering works or
management of large, multi-site facilities

·       
Practical
knowledge of service and repair requirements for machinery, equipment and
vehicles; plus project planning & management principles; and human resource
management.
