Limited (MDI) is a registered financial institution in Uganda and is adherent
to the Central Bank’s regulations and guidelines and was founded in 1994 to
provide quality microfinance services.

Job Summary:  The Manager – SME Suite will be responsible
for development, review and implementation of UGAFODE (MDI) business strategy
in relation to growth in the SME portfolio by providing responsive, proactive,
proficient and effective relationship management to SME customers thereby
expanding the share of business as well as supervising SME Relationship
officers to derive growth in line with approved targets.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
SME
Suite Portfolio Growth:
Oversee
sales drives in line with Business strategy and champion origination of SME
loans with the aim to maximize growth of the loan portfolio in order to impact
on the bottom-line of the SME Suite.

·       
Embedding
service standards:
Provide
superior relationship management with profitable SME customers by ensuring
customer retention, loyalty, preference and devotion to UGAFODE (MDI) as an
institution and its services.

·       
SME
Portfolio quality:
Maintains
and manages a qualitative Asset book and provides support in the recovery and
regularization of loans in arrears for SME Suite customers and assume the
responsibility of chairing the SME Suite Credit Recovery Committee.

·       
Adherence
to Compliance standards:

Ensures that all SME-Suite operations are in compliance to all UGAFODE set
standards and process controls in terms of customer service and product
offering among others by implementing measures aimed at guaranteeing an
effective and efficient SME relationship management.

·       
SME
Reporting:
Analyzes figures and
compiles daily/weekly/monthly reports on the performance of the Asset book and
monitors growth of the portfolio and where necessary, develops short term
strategy shifts to ensure that overall performance targets can be met in the
best interest of the institution.

·       
Team
supervision
: Takes full
responsibility for guiding of all direct reports, focusing on all aspects of
sound people management e.g. Coaching, On-the-job training, Development,
Performance Management, compliance to set standards and Employee engagement.

·       
Credit
Reference Bureau (CRB) Activities:
Takes full responsibility for all CRB activities at the SME Suite and
data quality guarantee

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The applicant
for the UGAFODE Microfinance Limited Manager – SME Suite job placement must
hold a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or finance. A good track
record of sales management is a Must.

·       
At least
four years of experience in banking of which 2 years is in relationship
management & sales.

·       
Extensive
and in-depth knowledge of banking services and products.

·       
Knowledge
of the full MS Office suite.

·       
Outgoing,
self-motivated, assertive and proactive.

·       
A
self-starter with ability to meeting deadlines.

·       
Excellent
communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.

·       
A good
team player who is able to work under minimum supervision.

·       
Strong
analytical power and innovative abilities.

·       
Business
drive, energetic and enthusiastic attitude.

·       
Influencing
and negotiation skills
