Job Summary:  The Logistics and Supply Chain Specialist will
oversee the execution of product and service offerings with key focus on adding
value to our client while optimizing quality, time and cost. The position will
also ensure performance meets BLL and client’s strategy, requirements, and
policies.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Support the effective utilization of pharmaceutical/medical
    logistics information to ensure effective and sustained availability of
    pharmaceutical/medical logistics products
  • Conduct regular mentorship and support supervision visits to all
    targeted health facilities in the country on pharmaceutical products
    supply management
  • Conduct regular trainings on use of pharmaceutical management
    information system tools and related documents to improve availability of
    pharmaceutical products at IP/health facility level
  • Support facilities/BLL clients on proper stock management and
    calculation for all pharmaceutical logistics products
  • Assist in the design and implementation of an efficient and
    effective Quality Assurance system to ensure teams can routinely achieve
    the desired quality, customer experience, and business result. This
    includes development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures
    (SOPs) that support good distribution practices
  • Manage the implementation and evaluation of key supply chain
    projects. Identify, eliminate, and/or manage risks, their escalation
    processes, and corrective action through a portfolio management system
    within projects in your department
  • Lead the continuous improvement processes; provide process expertise
    to identify improvement opportunities, risks, critical paths and impact of
    process change in order to drive innovation, finding solutions and
    optimizing business opportunities; share complex results in a format that
    is easily understandable for partners / end users; ensure timely
    implementation within the supply chain team in coordination with other
    teams
  • Design and conduct regular pharmaceutical logistics supply chain
    data quality assessment activities in line with company SOPs
  • Identify and develop action plans to ensure improvement in
    quantification and reporting quality for pharmaceutical/medical logistics
    products
  • Plan and do lot to lot verification of pharmaceutical logistics
    commodities at warehouse level, before they are distributed to end users

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Pharmacy,
    Medicine, Pharmaceutical Science, or a related field.
  • Additional qualification and experience in logistics and supply
    chain management is an added advantage.
  • Five (5) years diversified and progressive work experience in
    procurement, order fulfillment, logistics, and / or supply chain systems.
  • Experience in the Health/Pharmaceuticals sector is an added
    advantage.
  • Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts and
    continuous improvement efforts.
  • Experience with ERPs and/or LMISs is an added advantage
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within deadline and prioritize
    effectively, while delivering high quality work.
  • Understanding of Supply Chain Technologies and the critical cost and
    efficiency drivers of supply chain operations.
  • Makes decisions that are ‘fact1 based, using well developed
    quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Strong project management ability, Prior experience in managing
    multiple complex cross-functional projects simultaneously and in aligning
    resources with relevant projects.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills with
    strong sense of client service.
  • Ability to simplify complex processes and present ideas in a clear
    and concise manner. Highly skilled in Microsoft Office suite applications.
