private not for profit child health and development organization providing
family-centered pediatric HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment services,
health professional training, and clinical research in Uganda. Baylor College
of Medicine Children’s Foundation -Uganda (Baylor-Uganda) is an indigenous
not-for-profit child health and development organisation affiliated to the
Baylor College of Medicine International Paediatric AIDS Initiative (BIPAI), a
Network of paediatric HIV/AIDS care and treatment Children’s Clinical Centres
of Excellence and international program offices in 11 countries across Africa
and Eastern Europe.

 

Job Summary:   The Information Technology Officer will
support the monitoring and maintenance of computer systems (network, software
and/or hardware) and the supervision of IT contracted services in line with IT
standards and the project objectives. They will also design and develop
programs that will improve project delivery, monitoring and reporting. This
position will support the monitoring and maintenance of computer systems

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
ideal candidate must hold a Degree in Information Technology.

·       
Three
years of experience in Information Technology/Communication support, telephony
systems, wide and local area networks including experience with common-carrier
data networks; Microsoft and/or Cisco Network Certification or other network
certification.

·       
Previous
exposure and experience in Windows server configurations (ADDS, DNS, Group
Policy, DHCP, print server, WSUS, Windows backup, etc), server virtualization,
high availability and load balancing configuration and other windows server
installations

·       
Knowledge
of computer systems/networks and a range of software applications

·       
Understanding
Data and resource Protection requirements

·       
Exceptional
technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems in particular for
managing and configuring authority and organisation LANs, WANs, WLANs, VLANs,
VPNs, VOIP etc.
