About US:

The mission of the
Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) is to “Strengthen Health Systems in Africa
with strong emphasis on Infectious Diseases through Research and Capacity
Development”. IDI has six operational areas through which it works to achieve
its mission: Prevention, Care and Treatment, Training, Research, Laboratory
services (including the CAP-certified IDI Core Lab & Translational Lab),
Global Health Security and Health System Strengthening Programmes.

With funding from  Centres for Disease Control and Prevention
(CDC)/PEPFAR, and in partnership with MoH and respective District Local
Governments, IDI is implementing comprehensive HIV/AIDS services in the West
Nile region of Uganda under the project “Accelerating and Sustaining HIV
Epidemic Control and Related Diseases in West-Nile Region of Uganda under the
President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), 2020-2025”. The project
supports the 12 districts of; Arua, Maracha, Madi-Okollo, Terego, Koboko,
Yumbe, Moyo, Obongi, Adjumani, Pakwach, Nebbi and Zombo.

 

Job Summary:   The Regional Referral Data Officer will be responsible
for collection, validating, entry of data in the respective data bases and
maintain an updated secure filling records system for easy access and
generation of periodic reports.

 

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  

·       
Support
day to day clinic operations including generating lists of expected client
visits, missed visit reports, etc. in line with MoH data management guide lines

·       
Track
patients’ files and retrieve any information required by key stakeholders in
line with data management guidelines

·       
Generate
monthly reports for all patient’s clinic attendances, unscheduled, scheduled,
new patients in line with MoH data management guide lines

·       
Receive
and register newly referred/ linked patients make and update appointments in
line with clinic flow guidelines and in line with MoH data management guide
lines

·       
Post
patients’ data from their files into the patients’ data base on a daily basis
in line with in line with MoH data management guide lines

·       
Collect,
clean and routinely validate (weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually)
data/information in health facility in line with MoH data management guide
lines

·       
Provide
necessary data tools to all health facility staff and provide technical support
in data documentation in line with MoH data management guide lines

·       
Develop
and submit periodic reports to key stakeholders and give timely feedback to the
health facility staff in line with reporting guidelines

·       
Develop
& maintain proper filing, storage and retrieval systems of patients’
medical records in line with MoH data management guide lines

·       
Periodically
disseminate the updated health facility ‘Performance Monitoring Plan (PMP)’ and
quality improvement indicators to track the performance in line with MoH guide
lines

 

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:

·       
The
applicant must hold a Degree in IT, IS, Statistics, Economics, QE or any data
management related field

·       
At least
two years of experience in data management and analysis

·       
Good
computer skills and knowledge of Ms Access, Ms Excel, STATA, SPSS, EPiDATA.

·       
Comprehensive
knowledge of computer data input equipment and error resolution in data entry

·       
Experience
with Uganda EMR is required

·       
Excellent
communication skills

·       
Excellent
Computer knowledge and skills

·       
Knowledge
of Health Information Management System
