Reports to: Senior Procurement & Disposal Officer

 

About US:

Law Development
Centre (LDC) will provide legal
education to lawyers and non-lawyers, undertake research in topical legal
issues, contribute to legal reforms, produce legal publications, teaching
materials and law reports, and also provide community legal services.

 

Job Summary:   The
Procurement and Disposal Officer will provide support in the coordination of
all the procurement and disposal activities of the Centre.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
To
advise the user departments on the procurement processes.

·       
To
support the implementation of the decisions of the Contracts Committee.

·       
To
assist in the consolidating the annual procurement and disposal plans.

·       
To
participate in the preparation of bid documents.

·       
To
assist in the management of the bidding processes i.e. prepare and issue
bidding documents; receive bids and supervise bid opening.

·       
To
update the list of service providers.

·       
To
participate in the preparation of contract documents.

·       
To
maintain and archive records of the procurement and disposal process.

·       
To
prepare performance reports for the attention of the Senior Procurement &
Disposal Officer.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
applicant must hold a Bachelor’s (Hon) degree in Procurement and Supply Chain
Management or Bachelor of Business Administration (Procurement & Supply
Chain option) or Management Science (Procurement & Supply Chain option).

·       
Postgraduate
Diploma in Procurement and Supply Chain Management is an added advantage.

·       
At least
two years of experience in procurement and disposal preferably in a large
public institution.

·       
Possess
interpersonal relationship and Management skills.

·       
He/she
should be creative and innovative.

·       
Ability
to embrace change management.

·       
Computer
literate with a strong knowledge of e-procurement.

·       
He/she
should be a person of high integrity.

·       
Results
Oriented.

·       
Effective
communication skills.
