Job Summary:  As funding continues to shrink for
humanitarian and development programmes, actors are heightening their efforts
in documentation, knowledge management to profile their capacities and
positions as partners of choice. The need for quality writing both for print
and digital consumption is more critical than before. The NO registers an
immediate need to fill the documentation gap through opening up to technical
volunteers who will support the current gap as well as skilling the current
team. Support will be towards packaging various document toolkits for the
various stakeholders, upgrade of web content, packaging of press kits (Talking
points, Frequently Asked Questions etc). The overall purpose of engagement will
be to mentor current team.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

 Documentation Toolkit:

·       
Conduct document reviews to align NO
documentation to the Global Ministry and wider Sector Contexts.

·       
Provide editorial support to the 2020 Annual
Publication.

·       
Support the development of Programme
Capacity/Competent Statements to align with the 2021-2025 NO Strategy.

·       
Undertake designing of the toolkits on the WV
Branding guidelines.

Press Documentation/Media Toolkit:

·       
Support to generate Talking points for the
various programmes that WVU implements.

·       
Support to generate Q&A’s, or a Frequently
Asked Questions booklet.

Website:

·       
Review Programme documents, website content and
support to upgrade current profiles for the various website sections.

·       
Offer editorial support for impact stories
generated by Communications teams, aligning to the digital writing requirements
before uploading to the website and various Social media platforms.

·       
Support to improve current web content and offer
edits where applicable to make it more appealing to the audiences of interest.

Capacity Building

·       
Generate tutorials (Presentations) to
orient/refresh the current Communications team with relevant skills that you’ll
assess to be weak.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The ideal applicant for the World Vision Technical
Volunteers (Documentation & Knowledge Management) job must hold a Master’s
degree and 3 years of experience or a bachelor’s degree and 6 years of
experience in communications and knowledge management with International
Development/Humanitarian Organizations.

·       
At least 3 years of experience of conducting
Knowledge Management assignments for Not for Profit/Development Organizations.

·       
Demonstrated experience in digital and print
copy writing with designing competencies.

·       
Experience of translating M & E data into
knowledge.

·       
Demonstrated ability to think strategically
about communications objectives

·       
Excellent knowledge of advanced PowerPoint, Presentation
tools and other design software.

·       
Proficiency in copy writing and editorial both
for digital and print.

·       
Demonstrated strong mentorship skills and
willingness to coach.

·       
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced
environment and keenness to meet desired deadlines.

·       
Demonstrated abilities to collaborate within
matrixed project and program teams.
