Job Summary:  The Project Officer – Maternal and Newborn
Health will oversee project implementation and provide technical expertise and
quality assurance for project activities. The Project Officer will directly
support health facility staff and village health team members to accelerate the
achievement of maternal and newborn health outcomes. The Project Officer MNCH
will be part of a team participating in preparing annual, quarterly, and
monthly activity plans and reports, and documenting project experiences.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Participate
in developing annual, quarterly work plans and monthly workplans and detailed
budgets and procurement plans.

·       
Supervise
and monitor the work of project staff to ensure high-quality implementation
that aligns with the donor regulations.

·       
Oversee
the application of, program monitoring tools, and efficient mechanisms that
support high quality implementation.

·       
Emphasize
the use of data and learning for ongoing program improvement and adaptation.

·       
Represent
the project externally and maintain effective communication, coordination among
district level stakeholders.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
applicant must hold a Clinical background in medicine or nursing or a health-
related field masters-level degree in Public Health.

·       
Minimum
of a Degree in Health, social sciences, and other relevant qualifications.

·       
At least
3 years working experience in planning and implementing development programmes
in Uganda.

·       
At least
3 years working on development programmes including MNCH.

·       
Willingness
to work in a rural setting with ability to ride a motorcycle

·       
Highly
developed ability to apply adult learning techniques.  Ability to work independently and
collaboratively in a team setting.

·       
Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills. Fluency in languages used in the
Eastern region particularly Samia and Lusoga will be an added advantage
