About US:

The Insurance
Regulatory Authority of Uganda (IRA) was established under section 14 of the
Insurance Statute 1996 now The Insurance Act, (Chap213) Laws of Uganda, 2000
(Insurance Act) which came into effect on 4th April 1996 and commenced
operations in April 1997. The establishment of the Insurance Regulatory
Authority of Uganda was a consequence of Government’s adoption of the
liberalization and privatization policies which ended its role of directly
engaging in the provision of goods and services and taking on the role of
supervisor or regulator.

 

Job Summary:  The Welfare Assistant will be responsible for
day to day management of the kitchen facilities; ensure that staff and visitors
access quality and affordable refreshments and meals within designated
timeframe for smooth operations.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Coordinate
and attend to the kitchen and dining areas ensuring that the space is tidy and
utensils are neatly stored.

·       
Prepare
and serve refreshment to all IRA staff and visitors within the designated time
frames.

·       
Prepare
and serve refreshments to meetings and workshops.

·       
Source
and stock food/eats, drinks and other items.

·       
Propose
innovative actions for improving the quality of kitchen services.

·       
Maintain
a high degree of cleanliness and orderliness in the kitchen.

·       
Carry
out any other duty as may be assigned from time to time. 

 

Key Performance Indicators

·       
Timely
provision of cafeteria services to staff, visitors’ and Board members

·       
Clean
working environment

·       
Zero
staff complaints in relation to catering services.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
applicant for the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda (IRA) Welfare
Assistant job placement must hold a Certificate in Hotel Management, Catering,
Home Economics or its equivalent.
