About Project:

Population Services
International (PSI) and Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) are implementing
a three year grant for an implementation science project (The MaNe project) funded
by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The project
is implemented in the slum communities and informal settlements in the divisions
of Rubaga and Makindye in Kampala city. The project initiates and tests innovative
interventions/ approaches to address the demand and supply side barriers
affecting illness recognition, care seeking, effective referral and provision
of quality care equitably for better MNH outcomes in urban slum settings in
Kampala city.

Job Summary:   We are looking for a suitable candidate to
take on the temporary role (with possibility of extension) of Project Health
Services Coordinator for the MaNe project. He/She will be responsible for
implementation of MaNe project facility level strategies and activities with
the goal of increasing demand for Maternal and Newborn services and growing the
business performance of the project facilities. He/She will provide marketing
support and business advisory services to build sustainable private health
facilities offering Maternal and newborn services. The Project Health Services
Coordinator will work cross-functionally within project facilities to maximize
effectiveness and outcomes and works closely with multiple stakeholders to
understand and effectively strengthen selected private for-profit clinics
providing MNH through accreditation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Coordination
follow up and ensure execution of all project activities at project facilities
(especially the private) and liaison with the SBCC coordinator to develop
sustainable demand interventions for accredited private health facilities.

·       
Test and
scale-up acceptable, feasible and appropriate project interventions to promote
quality and affordability of MNH in accredited private clinics.

·       
Support
the knowledge management coordinator to document the key learnings/ lessons
while testing/implementing project interventions to promote quality and
affordability of MNH in accredited clinics.

·       
Liaise
with the project team to test demand creation interventions and support
refining them interventions based on evaluation and learning evidence.

·       
MoU or
contract management with all project facilities especially the private
forprofit accredited health facilities.

·       
Development
of communication and knowledge management approaches for the project accredited
private facilities.

·       
Support
teams to ensure that the improved Business Systems Value Proposition Pillar is
rolled out

·       
Monthly
analytics and reporting to project stakeholders and the wider team.

·       
Develop
operational guidelines and standards to guide recruitment of new private health
facilities on the project.

·       
Liaise
with KCCA to implement support sustainable payment mechanism for Maternal and
newborn services for the urban poor like Result Based Financing (RBF) through
the Global Financing facility (GFF) model.

·       
Continuous
monitoring and private provider engagement, price monitoring for Maternal and
newborn health services to ensure affordability for the urban poor and in line
with RBF guidelines.

·       
Coordinate
capability development interventions for the different franchise partners and
staff members.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
applicant must hold a Degree in Medicine and Surgery or Public Health.

·       
3+ years
of experience working at the supervisory level.

·       
Background
in Social Franchise and project coordination role.

·       
Understanding
of local healthcare and small and medium enterprises systems is a plus

·       
Experience
in social marketing/franchising an added advantage.

·
