2008, pursuing a vision of ‘A hunger and Malnutrition free Uganda. The
organisation is engaged in the activities of fighting hunger in Uganda with a local,
national and global perspective.

About WFP Project:

Hunger Fighters
Uganda, is WFP Cooperating Partners for General Food Assistance in
Nakivale/Oruchinga and Kyangwali Refugee settlements. HFU wishes to recruit
staff/volunteer to fill the position tenable in the GFA project implemented in
ISINGIRO and Kikuube Districts. .

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

·       Responsible for the maintenance, reporting
and management of the organization’s finance.

·       Participate in developing a reliable and
appropriate accounting system for the organization.

·       Monitor the day-to-day financial operations
within the Organization, such as payroll, invoicing, and other transactions.

·       Oversee financial department employees,
including finance officers and accountants

·       Oversee the Organizations’ Financial
Management and Budgeting, statutory reporting, auditing, banking, investments,
and other financial needs as necessary.

·       Track the Organization’s financial status and
performance to identify areas for potential improvement.

·       Seek out methods for minimizing financial
risk to the organization (Organization Risk Management).

·       Research and analyze financial reports and
market trends.

·       Provide insightful information and
expectations to Top Management and the Board of Directors to aid in long-term
and short-term decision making of the organization.

·       Review financial data/budgets and prepare
monthly and annual reports.

·       Present financial reports to Board of
Directors and Top Management in formal meetings

·       Stay up to date with technological advances
and accounting software to be used for financial purposes.

·       Establish and maintain financial policies and
procedures for the Organization.

·       Understand and adhere to financial
regulations and legislation.

·       Support the Finance and Administration
Department in the implementation of the BOARD and Auditors recommendations.

·       Any other added responsibility as may be
guided by the Board of Directors and immediate supervisor

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       The ideal applicant must hold a Bachelor’s
Degree in accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related
field;

·       Possession of Postgraduate qualification and
professional certificates in CPA/ACCA will be an added advantage.

·       At least 3 years of experience in Finance
Management role with reputable institutions and NGOs.

·       Superior mathematical skills; leadership
skills and experience; employee management; understanding of data privacy
standards; solid communication skills, both written and verbal; public speaking
skills; deep understanding of business principles and practices; superior
attention to detail; organizational skills; planning skills; research skills;
analytical skills; critical thinking skills; problem-solving skills; computer
skills; multi-tasking abilities; integrity, honesty.

·       Knowledge of and experience with a range of
financial reporting, monitoring and budgeting including knowledge in the use of
financial systems such as Quick books.

·       Demonstrated commitment to program
sustainability and building central and local capacity by providing technical
assistance, training and supervision to other staff
