Western Uganda, the company partners with smallholder farmers to buy, process
and trade ethically-sourced specialty agricultural products. Our specialty
cocoa beans are used by bean-to-bar chocolate makers throughout the world, and
our own craft chocolate is sold in stores domestically.

Job Summary:  The Accountant will report directly to the
Director in Kampala and serve as the coordinator of finance and accounts for
the company across operations and products.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

·       Manage company documentation, including
expense receipts, delivery documentation, employee contracts, etc. with
assistance from the cashiers

·       Review and submit weekly account reports on
stock and finance compiled by store managers and cashiers

·       Coordinate banking, payroll, and routine
taxes (PAYE, VAT, and NSSF)

·       Coordinate routine audit of accounts and
submission of tax returns

·       File invoices and follow-up with customers on
receivables

·       Draft and submit budgets

·       Coordinate fulfillment of any requirements
for financiers or donors

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       The ideal candidate must hold a Degree in
relevant Account or Finance field, CPA or ACA preferred

·       Fluent English

·       At least three years of experience as an
accountant in Ugandan registered company

·       Previous management experience or experience
overseeing field activities

·       Advanced knowledge of MS Office and
Quickbooks (required)

·       Good communication skills via email, phone,
and report writing

·       Willingness to relocate to rural area for
extended periods
