Job Summary:  The Head of Finance supports the Managing
Director in formulating business strategy, monitoring and controlling business
performance and driving business process improvements. He is responsible for
leading financial, risk and internal controls management and ensures delivery
of financial performance with integrity whilst adhering to BAT standards (as
well as local accounting and taxation laws). The role leverages internal and
external networks to drive business agenda and is a key member of the BAT
Uganda Leadership Team.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Leading
Finance team with overall responsibility for financial oversight including
accounting, reporting, forecasting, tax and treasury management

·       
Providing
financial and commercial insights to drive growth and sustainability agenda

·       
Ensuring
accurate and timely preparation and reporting of financial information in
compliance Group guidelines, IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards)
and local regulations (Board, Capital Markets Authority, Uganda Securities
Exchange, Investors)

·       
Ensuring
relevant internal controls are in place and leading implementation of Company
policies & procedures

·       
Building
effective relationships with internal & external stakeholders
(distributors, banks, tax advisors, auditors, tax authority & other
regulatory bodies) to advance business objectives.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
applicant for the British American Tobacco Head of Finance job should have a
financial background with a professional accountancy qualification (such as
ACCA, CPA), a relevant university degree and sound knowledge of accounting
principles & interpretation of local tax laws

·       
At least
seven years of finance/Accounting experience in a multinational Finance
environment

·       
Understanding
and awareness of other business functions and their interface with Finance

·       
Effective
negotiation, influencing, communication and presentation skills

·       
Working
knowledge of SAP is an added advantage.
