in Kampala, manufacturing personal care products. Its brands include Movit,
Radiant, Baby Junior, Skin Guard, Pine and NAN. The company was founded in
1997, by Simpson Birungi as a makeshift workshop in Namasuba, Wakiso District.
In 1999 the first Movit product, Herbal Baby Jelly, was put on the market. Over
the years, Movit, the company’s flagship name, has grown into one of Uganda’s
top cosmetics brands with distribution links in both East Africa and the COMESA
regions. Other known products from Movit include the Body Milk Lotion, Junior
Petroleum Jelly, Movit No base Relaxer and many more.

Job Summary: The
PR, Media and Advertising Manager  is
responsible for proactively seeking for advertising, digital and coverage
opportunities to sell MPL across appropriate B2B and B2C circles, ensuring the
creation of exciting and dynamic content across various communication
platforms.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

·       
Digital Marketing Management-to leverage the
company’s presence on online platforms through creating and maintaining
relevant up-to-date digital communication channels for example, websites,
social media platforms among others;

·       
Identify, contract and maintain media relationships
for Movit Products Limited in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi and
DRC Congo;

·       
Plan and coordinate press conferences-to
communicate to MPL customers about any ongoing developments in the company
suing mainstream media;

·       
Draft and consolidate company information which
include company profiles, brand manuals and policies;

·       
Lobby and maintain partnerships with strategic
bodies-to ensure good stakeholder relations across board-Stakeholders aid MPL
in the daily performance of its mandate for example Uganda Revenue authority,
Uganda Manufacturers Association, Uganda National bureau of standards among
others;

·       
Supervise the advert Production process for all
brands (Video and Audio), to ensure that the contracted service providers
provide quality work aligned to the set MPL standards;

·       
Identify and manage the companies approved
retainers (Ambassadors, endorsers, strategic partners);

·       
Coordinate MPL event photography and Video graph
management-to see to it that the company attains quality photography that can
be used in selected media channels;

·       
Identify, contract and manage Outdoor
advertising channels-achieve consistency in all communication channels (Outdoor
Billboards, Digital Billboards, Wall branding, City Clocks) in Uganda, Tanzania
and Rwanda;

·       
Deploy, supervise and oversee the field
operations for all unit members-to see to it that all unit members operations
are aligned to the overall company strategy;

·       
CSR/sponsorships Management-all projects that
are for the entire organisation not with only an effect to brands are all
reviewed by the PR unit, to see to it that all corporate interests are managed.

·       
Approve and control unit budgets

·       
Approve retainer payments

·       
Negotiate finances for key partnerships (Media
and sponsorships)

·       
100% participation in the development of all
company’s annual  PR plan

·       
Weekly tracking of all MPL PR programs

·       
Proactively follow up on all MPL editorial
calendars.

·       
Monthly submission of accountability reports on
key campaigns done

·       
100% monitoring of the  PR budgets

·       
Ensure a turnaround time of 3 days for the
assessment  and evaluation of all
submitted proposal for company sponsorship

·       
Ensure 95% delivery and success of all
events  to achieve maximum mileage

·       
Monitor, analyse and  measure results of all  PR programs on a quarterly basis

·       
Present company interest at all company
sponsored events

·       
Scan the market for all projects implemented by
the Cosmetic Competing Companies and report routinely

·       
Weekly 
staff meetings to assess performance, job coaching and mentoring

·       
Weekly field itinerary supervisory plans and
reports

·       
Manage all MPL corporate membership issues

·       
Ensure 100% success with all MPL relationship
issues

·       
Manage all corporate awareness projects/programs
as such UNBS quality award, People’s Choice etc.

·       
Assist and participate with internal communication
with the relevant offices say HR, Admin etc.

·       
Ensure 100% compliance to the formalities to be
taken when dealing with company communications ( use of the protocol)

·       
Identify key media outlets for all company
communications

·       
Identify media trends, news cycles and spin
opportunities

·       
Coordinate all company talk shows

·       
Develop compelling MPL communication on issued
public issues and opinions

·       
Pitch stories to both national and regional
media houses

·       
Financial Decisions

·       
Analytical Decisions

·       
Operation Decisions

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The ideal candidate must hold a Master’s Degree
in a relevant field

·       
At least six (6) years’ relevant work experience
for direct entry; or three (3) years’ experience in the previous grade
