Job Summary: The
plant supervisor is responsible for ensuring effective supervision of all Pole
preparations and treatment operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

·       To supervise all pole treatment operations
including pole including pole off loading, pole inspection, pole  sizing and stacking.

·       Produce and submit daily and weekly
production reports and make appropriate recommendations for improvements in
efficiency and productivity/

·       Assist in the Verification of numbers of
poles delivered to the plant, numbers of sized poles and size specifications
and number of dispatched poles.

·       Assist the Line manager in implementing work
schedules, shift supervision as well as meeting of set production targets.

·       Requisition, Verify and ensure proper
utilization of raw material inputs for the pole plant including CCA chemical,
supervise anti-split plates, etc

·       Maintain a clean working environment with
proper management of off cuts and any bark from poles.

·       Help the production section (treatment
section) most especially when one of the staff is off duty or as requested.

·       Monitor the quality of the raw materials
received and the products that are dispatched taking interest in untreated
pole/posts inspection and pole/posts selection before dispatch to customers.

·       Take direct responsibility for the
performance management and discipline of direct reports and first-line staff.

·       Promote Health and Safety at the Plant by
emphasizing safe handling and usage of all company equipment at the plant.
Ensuring that all workers wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the
appropriate tasks.

·       To ensure that all plant machinery such as
bell loggers, generator, trucks, etc are in good working condition and be keep
updated maintenance records.

·       Perform any other duties that may be assigned
to by Management


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       The ideal candidate must hold a Degree in Wood Science, Bachelor of Conservation Forestry and Products Technology.

·       At least 3-5 Years’ relevant experience

·       Relevant Knowledge of CCA treatment plant operations

·       Knowledge of wood treatment & Management processes

·        Good direct-line supervisory skills

·       Excellent interpersonal, and communication skills
