Uganda Airlines is
the flag carrier of Uganda. The company is a revival of the older Uganda
Airlines which operated from 1977 until 2001. It began flying in August 2019.
Job Summary: The Load Controller will be responsible for
ensuring flight safety by performing load planning, weight and balance
calculations and finalization of the load sheet and other loading documents in
accordance with Uganda Airlines procedures. Ensure and maintain a healthy,
Safe, Secure and Cost-effective operation for Uganda Airlines operations, in
compliance with the relevant industry regulatory and legislative requirements,
company procedures, and regulatory authorities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·
Ensure
on-time departure without compromising safety.
·
Ensure
accurate computation of aircraft weight and balance.
·
Prepare
and communicate to loading personnel (Loading Agents) a load plan that is in
line with aircraft loading instruction processes.
·
Such
load planning shall consider fuel load and distribution, aircraft equipment,
planned dead load, expected passenger load, fuel efficiency, special loads and
shall always be performed in accordance with aircraft manufacturers and Company
limitations.
·
Calculate
accurately EZFW to optimize fuel consumption and load planning.
·
Finalize
load sheet showing load distribution, special loads and LMCs that conform to
Uganda Airlines operating procedures.
·
Identify
and report hazards, near misses, incidents, and accidents.
·
Adhere
to Uganda Airline’s principals and best practices.
·
Embrace
and maintain a positive safety culture, a healthy and secure working
environment in compliance with the relevant industry regulatory and legislative
requirements.
·
Cover
any other duties as may be directed from time to time in the interest of the
company.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
The
ideal applicant for the Uganda Airlines Load Controller job must hold an
A-Level or Higher Diploma with experience in an all-round airport handling
operation with relevant experience as a Load Controller.
·
Two to
three years of relevant experience in a similar role with a reputable airline
or reputable ground handling company.
·
Airside
Safety Training.
·
Aviation
Safety Awareness Training.
·
IATA
Dangerous Goods Training CAT 8.
·
Aviation
Safety and Security Training.
·
Airport
Operations Experience.
·
Good
computer knowledge.
·
Aircraft
handling and loading.
·
Airside
Driver Training (Airside Driving Permit – ADP)
