Job Summary:   The Cash and Markets Assistant Supports all
cash-based interventions (CBI), including multi-purpose cash grants transfers
using mobile money and e-vouchers, data collection, including baseline, post
distribution monitoring using  mobile
monitoring technology (MMT), market prices assessment and monitoring, and
complaints and feedback handling using MMT. He/she is also responsible for cash
control, troubleshoot any vendor interface challenges, and assist beneficiaries
in market transaction. The position will assist in Mobilization,
identification, registration and verification of Persons with Specific Needs
beneficiaries, working together with the nutritionist and livelihoods assistants;
provide daily/periodic multipurpose cash quality monitoring at refugee and host
community markets.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Participate
in the identification, registration and verification of beneficiaries for asset
protection cash grants

·       
Support
in the vulnerability assessments, markets, baseline and end line surveys with
support from the monitoring and evaluation team

·       
Prepare
requests for cash distribution for beneficiaries in a timely manner, and ensure
coordination with service providers for the cash transfers

·       
Together
with the M&E team, participate in Post distribution monitoring (PDM) in
Imvepi and Omugo refugee settlements.

·       
Monitor
and track all market complaints and provide timely and effective feedback.

·       
Ensure
system for feedback is in place and operational for a timely response

·       
Organize
and facilitate trainings for group and community leaders on financial literacy,
entrepreneur skills, group dynamics and peaceful co-existence among host and
refugee communities

·       
Provide
recommendations and show initiative on improvement of the work process if
needed.

·       
Maintain
an open dialogue with the beneficiaries to promote transparency and
accountability including contributing to and implementing the Core Humanitarian
Standards (CHS)

·       
Identify,
document and disseminate best practices gained from Cash and Markets
interventions in the settlement.

·       
Share
responsibility to maintain refugee community participation mechanisms in the
camp, ensuring that the voices of men, women, boys and girls and groups with specific
needs are heard and represented.

Monitor
market and commodity weekly prices and document reports.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
ideal applicant for the DCA Cash and Markets Assistant job must hold a B.Sc. in
Economics, Business development or related field

·       
At least
two years of experience working with cash-based interventions

·       
Experience
with market facilitation, supporting systemic change and promoting services
directly

·       
Understanding
digital data collection using mobile monitoring technology (MMT) 

·       
Practical
experience in working with micro, small and medium sized companies

·       
Very
good communication, report writing skills and facilitation skills

·       
Experience
working with refugees and host communities
