complemented with 16 ATMs spread on Kampala Road, Commercial Plaza, Ben
Kiwanuka, Luwum Street, Oasis Mall Sixth Street, Arua, Elgon Masaba, Fort
Portal, Gulu, Hoima, Lira, Mbarara and Jinja that offer trade financing,
corporate and retail banking services to customers.

Job Summary:  The AML & Compliance Manager will be
working as part of the Legal &Compliance Department- Head Office. The
position will among other functions provide first line compliance surveillance,
guidance and management on AML& CFT alerts and other relevant information
in line with applicable laws, regulations, KCB Uganda and KCB Group policies
and international standards. The jobholder will be responsible for managing the
establishment of continuous dialogue, support and information on the Bank’s
Compliance Universe, AML/CTF/KYC policies, and practices and other regulatory
matters or which the Bank is licenced.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
In charge of the Bank’s regulatory compliance,
monitoring and reporting to the Bank’s respective regulators not limited to the
Central Bank, URBRA, Capital Markets Authority, Insurance Regulatory Authority,
etc

·       
Develop and implement the Compliance strategy
for the Bank and ensure that it is effectively cascaded across the different
departments of the bank to drive awareness and alignment of the compliance
agenda

·       
Review, interpret and train key stakeholders on
the existing and emerging laws and regulations to ensure compliance with the
law and regulatory bodies

·       
Develop and maintain a risk assessment framework
for products and services, clients and customers, and other issues relating to
compliance and money laundering

·       
Monitor internal compliance with Bank Policies,
Manuals and set guidelines

·       
Act as anti-money laundering liaison contact in
Head Office, maintaining continuous dialogue and information to business units
on key issues defined in the AML/KYC policies

·       
Reviewing AML system alerts and internal suspicious
transaction reports and ensuring they are attended to for closure/escalation as
appropriate for KCB Bank Uganda Limited

·       
Monitoring of sales and new business activities
to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory commitments

·       
Track and alert on the status and performance of
AML/KYC compliance responsibilities across Bank Units

·       
Carryout initial review of AML alerts to ensure
resolution and escalation where necessary

·       
Maintain AML/KYC compliance risk data
collection, analysis and preparing reports with recommendations to mitigate
exposures

·       
Maintain continuous engagement with business
units and to review and advise on New Products, and Projects, for conformance
with AML/KYC and sanctions programs

·       
Through liaison with business unit maintaining and
advising status on Reputational risk issues to relevant committee

·       
Monitor and report on the daily management of
compliance issues at respective units including significant internal policies
as may be advised

·       
Provide compliance risk liaison at peer levels
across specialist and risk functions. (Legal, Audit, Business, Risk, HR,
Finance, including Forensic investigations and Insurance)

·       
Obtain from internal parties’ relevant
documentation on transactions deemed suspicious and ensure effective record
keeping

·       
Ensure compliance with all Tax legislation and
prompt management of related stakeholders

·       
Develop and maintain a regulatory universe of
all primary and secondary legislation including maintenance of related
stakeholders

·       
Monitor and track 100%compliance to all laws,
regulations and guidelines in the compliance universe

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

·       
The ideal candidate for the KCB Bank AML &
Compliance Manager job must hold a University degree in Business related degree
from a recognized and reputable institution. Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce,
Finance, Law or Accounts

·       
Professional qualification in Accounting /
Banking/ Compliance. Related field, FRM, CPA U, ACCA, PRMIA, CFA, AKIB, ACIB)
ACAMS, ABCI

·       
Total minimum number of years in Management
experience required is 6 years.

·       
Six years of experience in Banking Operations at
management

·       
level, Compliance, strategic Planning skills,
stakeholder management and engagement

·       
Knowledge of the Banking Regulatory guidelines,
products and services

·       
A good understanding of Risk, Compliance
policies and procedures
