Mountains of
the Moon University was established as a private chartered university under the
Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act of 2001 to provide quality
teaching and learning that is relevant and competitive; offer courses that
address the needs of the local, national and international community; promote
research for the social- economic and political development of the country; and
engage in activities for self- sustainability. The Ministry of Education and
Sports appointed a Taskforce to manage the Transition of MMU from Private to
Public University for the next two years.

Job summary: The Senior Planning
Officer will manage and coordinate the development, implementation, evaluation,
and improvement of University-wide planning, investment and resource
mobilization processes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

·      
Provide technical support to the units in
preparation and production of university plans.

·      
Supervise the preparation and dissemination of
performance standards and indicator for the university to users.

·      
Participate in formulating, developing,
coordinating the university development plans and budgets.

·      
Coordinate, monitor and evaluate performance of
the university development plans, programs and projects

·      
Oversee the Development and maintenance of an
updated databank.

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:

·      
The ideal candidate must hold Master ‘s degree
in either Economic Policy and Planning or Master’s in Economics

·      
A minimum of 8 years relevant working
experience, 4 of which must have been at senior management level in a public
service.

·      
Demonstrated applied quantitative research,
survey designs, statistical modeling, problem solving, critical and strategic

·      
Excellent presentation and communication skills

·      
A team player with good interpersonal relations.
