business with supply and demand for beer, spirits and soft drinks with a fast

brewer in Uganda since it began operations in 1946, boasting a rich legacy of
iconic brands. Located in Port Bell – Luzira in the outskirts of Kampala, the
brewery is continuously modernized and its operating capacity expanded. The
plant has a total brewing capacity of 1,000,000 hectolitres per year set to
grow by 50% with on-going investment in expansion of brew house. Bell Lager is
the company’s flagship brand having been in the market for over 60 years. other
key Brands include: Bell Lager, Tusker Malt, Pilsner, Senator, and Guinness.

Job Summary:  The job holder is required to ensure optimum
brand visibility and maximize sales through close liaison with regional sales
manager, minimize the effects of all competitor brands within ethical
guideline, report key field information to RSM and agree follow up plans,
administer workload as directed and operate efficiently in management of time
and budgets.

To positively
influence sales of UBL brands by regular contact, networking and motivation in
allocated retail accounts and to operate a one portfolio UBL brand approach for
both beer and spirits. In charge of TOTAL MARKET in your territory (Not Only
Top 200) – No.1 priority is to ensure availability and visibility of our brands
in your territory as per segment.  

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • To understand each element of the outlets and UBL business plans and
    strategy for their implementation.
  • Correct Outlet Segmentation and Territory Data Capture.
  • Coolers Management and Tracking in the Territory – Deployment /
    Redeployment, Up-to-date Contracts, Maintenance and Withdrawal in case of
    misuse.
  • Maintain Up-to-date Territory Files
  • CD Daily Route Coverage & VSM Management – Right Route Plans and
    Journey planning to cover all outlets in the Territory with the correct
    frequency by the VSMs (Vehicle Sales Managers) and Self.
  • Daily Van Loading reviews to ensure that VSMs have loaded the
    correct mix of brands as per the route to be covered for the day.
  • 100% Utilization of DMS by CD in all selling and marketing
    activities within the territory.
  • Ad Hoc VSM route audits to ensure that all outlets and routes are
    being covered as per VSM Journey plans – During Nocturnal ( At least 4
    Nocturnal  in a week).
  • Achieve sales volume, objectives, rate of Sale driver standards in
    retail trade QDVPP and UBL sales force effectiveness, standards in
    distributor sales crews.
  • To ensure distributor coverage and call frequency targets are
    achieved
  • To support the development of selling skills within external
    merchandiser or VSM sales crews and retailer staff to achieve QDVPP
    standards without having to do it yourself.
  • Develop brand-building activities for the outlet to implement, run
    retail promotion activities to plan and run UBL promotional activities in
    outlet.
  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements at the work environment.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicant for the Sales Representative, UBL job must hold a
    business-related degree or equivalent
  • Three years of experience in a similar role especially FMCGs
