Job Summary:  The Technical Proposal Writer will be
responsible for proposal development, writing business plans 

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

Proposal writing
and development (70%)

  • Coordinating/leading the development of technical and commercial
    proposals for responding to tenders from both international development
    agencies and private industry.
  • Leading the review of the tender documents to identify core
    priorities for the client
  • Developing a proposal outline and coordinating inputs from across
    the team – including from time to time, from external experts
  • Researching and writing technical and management sections of the
    technical proposal
  • Reviewing client policies to ensure alignment within the technical
    proposal
  • Developing and managing a proposal development workplan,
    coordinating inputs and ensuring the timely completion of components
  • Supporting the costing of activities and developing resourcing plans
    for the tender
  • Supporting the provision of inputs for any tenders in which
    Sentegram plans to subcontract to another prime bidder. This will include
    a combination of all the tasks above, with a key focus on close and
    effective liaison within the consortium to ensure the timely and quality
    submission of Sentegram inputs.

Positioning for new
business (30%)

  • With the broader Business Development team, tracking and identifying
    business opportunities, and maintaining a record of current and upcoming
    leads and tender opportunities
  • Conducting background reading and research on technical topics
    trending in the international development, social performance, and
    environment sectors; and new policies being issued by prospective clients
  • Networking within the international development and corporate
    industries in Uganda and more widely, identifying and engaging with
    prospective and existing clients, partners, and consultants
  • As required, attending and representing Sentegram at relevant
    events, including business chamber and embassy networking events,
    development agency market engagement events, and other opportunities to
    meet with existing and prospective clients, partners, and consultants
  • Supporting our Operations Manager and sales team in global branding,
    marketing, and communications functions in line with agreed business
    development priorities

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Degree in a relevant field
  • Three years of relevant experience in technical delivery, business
    development – knowledge of the IT sector will be a bonus,
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft packages (word, excel & power
    point)
  • Excellent flow chart skills & knowledge of applicable tools such
    as Visio, Lucid chart etc.
  • Experience in cloud computing platforms such as Sales force.com,
    Amazon web services, Microsoft Azure, Google Oracle.
