Construction Company Limited (NHCC) was founded in 1964 and is a Ugandan
construction and real estate management company, partly owned by the Uganda
Government. The Company’s mandate is to increase the housing stock in the
country, rehabilitate the housing industry and encourage Ugandans to own homes
in an organized environment.

Job Summary:    The Personal Assistant will be responsible
for providing efficient executive office administration and secretarial support
services to the Company Secretary.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Manage and prioritise correspondences for the attention of the
    Company Secretary.
  • Take shorthand dictation and transcription including typing
    documents and filing
  • Handle in-coming and outgoing telephone calls and correspondences as
    well as scheduling and attending to all to visitors in a timely and
    courteous manner.
  • Effectively manage the records centre for the department including
    proper recording, indexing and filing, as well as ensuring confidentiality
    of all files.
  • Monitor proper stocking of all required office supplies and
    facilities on a timely basis.
  • Prepare for meetings, take minutes as well as record of all other
    relevant proceedings and events.
  • Manage the Legal Registry, office calendar and diaries in general as
    well as effect timely reminders of scheduled activities.
  • Maintain a good image of the office, as well as Public Relations at
    all times, including ensuring that any complaints are promptly resolved.
  • Ensure daily office cleanliness, organization and orderliness at all
  • Administratively support the legal team in the department

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicant for the National Housing & Construction Company
    Limited Personal Assistant   job
    placement must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Secretarial Studies or its
    equivalent from a recognized University or Institution.
  • A minimum of four (4) years relevant working experience as a
    Personal Assistant to a Business Executive or in a similar position in a
    large and reputable public or private organization
  • Proven knowledge and skills in application of MS Office Packages
  • (especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint are essential)
  • Communication and Public relations skills.
  • Results-oriented, highly organized and pays attention to details
  • Good presentation and reporting Skills and abilities.
  • Interpersonal and human relations skills, as well as a team-player.
  • Analytical, judgmental and problem solving skills.
  • Coordination and networking skills.
  • Good time management and stress management skills.
  • Maturity, high ethics and integrity
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines, for long hours
    and with minimal supervision.                                                                    
  • Age: Below 50
