BRAC International is one of the world’s largest Non-Governmental Development Organizations, working in a number of countries in Africa and Asia on poverty alleviation Programs, is registered in Uganda as BRAC Uganda. The organization implements integrated development approach combining Education, Health, Agriculture, Livestock, Adolescent Empowerment and Microfinance.

Job Summary:  The Head HR & Training will provide customize HR relationship management and services to all BRAC Uganda staff.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
  • Maintains organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommending changes.
  • Maintains a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; preparing pay budgets; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions.
  • Maintains a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; preparing pay
  • Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the BRAC International Head HR & Training job must hold a Master's degree in Human Resource management, MBA or related field.
  • At least five years of experience of managing people in the development sector or NGO.
  • Good understanding of all current labor laws and best practice
  • Ability to work and manage compensation and Wage Structure
  • Excellent interpersonal, particularly staff/management relations;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work and produce accurate results in an environment with multiple and challenging tasks.
