Job Summary:   The Bancassurance Operations Officer is
responsible for offering the best service to the internal and external
customers for best management of stakeholders. The role holder will ensure that
all policies received are processed in a timely manner and any issues arising
are resolved in a timely manner. The role holder will ensure that Premiums are
collected for all policies in a timely manner and any issues arising are
resolved in a timely manner.The role holder will also effectively analyse and
reconcile all policy instructions with particular emphasis on operational
controls and service management.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

Operational
Management – 40%

  • Ensure all policies for all proposal forms received are sent to
    respective insurers within 24 hrs
  • Ensure premiums are collected for all policies based on agreed
    format/load Direct debits timely/daily recon of DD’s
  • Commission collection/tracking on all premiums remitted to insurers
  • Support Head Bancassurance with delivery of new projects.
  • Callback Relationship Managers, branches and customers to confirm
    policy instructions as per business rules and inform stakeholders of any
    issues arising with their payments.
  • Interact with branches on discrepancies in following the FTOS policy
  • Ensure that the proper end of day reconciliations have been done
    i.e. work received and work processed, return to sender percentages, etc.
    are monitored and reported on.
  • Ensure that there is clear ownership of any issues arising during
    processing of Payments as well as timely resolution of any errors logged.

Rigour / Compliance
– 40%

  • All renewal done 30 days before expiry and sent to customer through
    respective branch/RM
  • Reconcile Banca GL’s monthly/ provide returns to Finance and
    Reconciliation team
  • EOM commission report maintain query/complaints management register
  • Maintain files of all policies issued/ policy receipt
    acknowledgements/communications/master polices/endorsements/dd form /
    meeting minutes etc.
  • Participate in snap checks as assigned by team manager
  • Generate daily MI in order to identify any performance gaps.
  • Ensure prompt response to both internal and external customer
    queries.

Hygiene – 20%

  • Maintain claims register for all classes of business and ensure
    response is provided to claimants timely whether claim is settled or
    repudiated
  • All premiums due collected timely- within 30 days of policy
    inception or as per agreed signed off arrangements
  • Ensure timely collection of premiums, send communications to
    customers, provide reports to retention team timely- weekly report
  • Support head Banc assurance with organising  Planned trainings, training materials,
    send reminders and book training facilities
  • Support Banc assurance specialists and head banca with launched
    campaigns, print posters for display in branches, provide daily date on
    performance

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate for the ABSA Group (Formerly Barclays Bank
    UK) Bancassurance Operations Officer job opportunity should preferably
    hold a University Degree or its equivalent
  • Two years of working experience in a busy payments environment
  • Outstanding personal and team organisation skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, team working and relationship skills.
  • Good numeric skills.
  • Quality conscious.
  • Keyboarding / PC skills.
  • Knowledge and accreditation in FTOS policy
