Audit firm that deals in Audit, Accounting, Financial Consultancy Services.

Job Summary:  The Accountant will be required to be
preparing and verifying monthly statements, keeping records, reconciling bank
accounts, carrying out financial analysis and preparation of financial
projections and budget.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

·        
Posting
all financial transactions in the accounting packages;

·        
Filling
returns to Uganda Revenue Authority, National Social Security Fund and
Registrar of companies and handling any issues concerning these statutory
bodies;

·        
Following
up on company annual license and Local Service tax from KCCA;

·        
Ensuring
all statutory deductions and due payments are made timely;

·        
Making
Bank Reconciliations on a regular basis;

·        
Maintaining
a noncurrent assets register;

·        
Producing
a full set of financial statements ready for audit within the prescribed
timeframe after the end of the financial year;

·        
Manage
all accounting operations based on accounting principles;

·        
Prepare
budget, financial forecasts and publish financial statements in time;

·        
Prepares
economic performance reports, final accounts and monthly financial management
reports;

·        
Handles
tax administration, filling all tax returns, PAYE, VAT, etc;

·        
Compile
daily transactions and summarize all the work done in accounts covered by the
employees from all departments/sections;

·        
Supervise
cash office operations and keep custody of cheque books;

·        
Receive
and bank cash, cheques and any other payment forms;

·        
Receive,
verify and bank cheques for payment to the firm;

·        
Report
irregularities such as: forgery, theft, misappropriation and take appropriate
measure without delay;

·        
Keep
information confidential and secure them with random database backups;

·        
Keep up
with financial policies, regulation and legislation;

·        
Carry
out any other duties connected with cash transactions as instructed and handle
any duties that may be assigned from time to time;

·        
Generate
invoices, issue and follow up on collections within reasonable timeframes;

·        
Any
other duties as requested by your supervisors and /or directors in your line of
service.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

·        
The
ideal candidate must hold a degree in Finance or Accounting from a reputable
University with level one of either CPA or ACCA. Or a full professional
accounting qualification (ACCA OR CPA).

·        
Knowledge
in the use of Accounting and Microsoft Office Packages.

·        
Proven
working experience as an accountant or in a relevant field minimum of 3 years;

·        
Thorough
knowledge of accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures;

·        
A high
degree of integrity and be a team player with excellent oral and written
communication skills as well as interpersonal skills;

·        
Keen attention
to detail and confidentiality;

·        
Skills: Accounting,
corporate finance, reporting skills, attention to detail, deadline-oriented,
reporting research results, confidentiality, time management, data entry
management,  general math skills.
